I'd go for Hale_bopp; I don't really know her, so there's no personal investment there to mess up, I find her attractive, and although she can be irritating, she seems basically nice, with some interesting quirks thrown in. For everyone else, I can think of reasons why it'd be crappy, whether it's that they're friends and it would make things awkward, or they're taken, or there's an incompatability of personality, or they simply don't appeal to my tastes.

If we're all on a primitive island and modern perversions of Judeo-Christian ideals weren't a major influence on most of us, then it would be easy.

That's a human perspective altogether, based on being told what to think, how to address other people, and so forth by the society that they are dependent on. Plenty of comments were made to Lit about this 'relationship' though, we didn't just let it slide, but I don't think anyone really wanted to go on the attack about it- instead preferring to approach the subject by taking the piss and pointing out that the problems he was having with her might be to do with the fact that she was still a child and recommending that he found someone nearer his own age.

I agree- I know at the time I was feeling grateful that only one person had openly judged me and commented negatively on my 'open' relationship beliefs- and I know that was affecting the amount of slack I was willing to give people on their life-style choices (but I did make some comments about it). I still hope it is more rare, rather than the norm, even among each other. One specific, radical case I have seen was a "girl" who I photographed with her kids. She was a senior in high school at nineteen years old and her family consisted of a four year old boy, an eighteen month old girl, plus she was pregnant, had no boyfriend and the fathers were long gone. She was absolutely gorgeous, even carrying her third child, but there is something wrong with this from my perspective. She was fifteen when she had her first child, as a child herself.

Children were taught and raised to be adults at a much younger age than we do now, something which I think we need to take into account when judging when a person is old enough for sex now. I don't agree with the idea that there is some arbitrary age when everyone suddenly becomes emotionally mature enough to handle sex, to say that everyone matures at the same time is just insane. I also believe that quite often people make more of a big deal about the emotional maturity needed to handle sex than they need to. Perhaps the real issue is that we as a society are not preparing young adults for sex and all the related emotions that come with it?
My main concern with the example we're really discussing is not necessarily that she was under the age of consent in both the UK and US (granted she wasn't in Sweden), but the fact that being so much older than her there's always the underlying concern that she might be being taken advantage of by someone with a bit more savvy than she has.

Not at all I agree, but the point I was making was that the majority of people wouldn't be ready to raise a child at 15 even if they were more biologically suited for it than someone older. It goes back to the point I was making a couple of posts back- in this society people aren't raised to be adults until much older than they were historically, so whilst 15 would have been a normal age to be having children historically it isn't now because children are kept children for much longer.

Historically, young people had sex and started families at a young age, but a lot of things were different then. People didn't live as long as they do now, and psychology wasn't as advanced. People didn't seem to care how these norms psychologically impacted children. At one point, age seven was considered "the age of reason" ffs. We know now that seven-year-olds are children and still developing. Society has progressed a lot since ancient times regarding protecting children.
Adults should be responsible enough not to expose young people to romantic/sexual experiences they are not ready for. It is bad enough that children get talked into sex before they are emotionally ready by their peers.

I think it's less a case that people in the ancient world were wrong about developmental speed, and more that children these days have a lot more to learn, which takes a lot longer than it used to. While before, 'education' didn't need to go much beyond the milking of goats and what activities would get you the bad sort of stoned, which was a state of development easily obtainable by age seven, today there's a vastly more complex noosphere to take in, without which an individual is severely handicapped, and which takes a correspondingly longer period of time to assimilate, thus why we deny individuals the power of decision-making in general until they're in their late teens.

I click to yay someone, and I get brought to a screen that says "karma change (applaud)" and in the bar bellow that it says "ammount of karma points :" followed by that little square symbol that the computer uses when it cant represent the proper symbol, like when you com across Chinese text, the computer just shows lots of squares in place of Chinese symbols.
I have no place to write anything, and no buttons to confirm my awarding of karma.

A science geek would be ideal, or at least, having some of that in them, it would be nice to have a lab partner I could trust to work alongside me in the skunk-works, help with my projects and it would be cool to be able to help out with a partner's stuff too.
Can get a bit fiddly sometimes when say, having to keep watching the heat and stirplate settings, take temperature readings from a reaction whilst crystallizing something else and keeping the vacuum pump going smoothly, dispensing reagents all at the same time.
Would have to be someone that can keep quiet about some of the things they might see being made or done, and some of the things on the lab chemical shelves and cupboards aren't for public knowledge either.

I don't find AS a requirement - though it may well be that everyone I've really bonded
with is at least close to the spectrum.
As to mind vs. body, I guess "as much" applies, in that I have minimal standards in both.
What I've found is I can do without sex - but find value to having a pretty female who can
share interesting discussions around. I don't think I could share my life in the same way
with a person I found unattractive.

Some people are looking down on the idea because of her being kanners autie, but I don't find anything wrong with it, done right and with the right mindset of the person doing the asking out. Although the rodent is right, the renster is a FOX. I love the way she expresses what I've long thought of as 'the autie death stare'/'aspie death stare'. Ren does it perfectly, she's got it down to a fine art :autism:
And I find it rather sexy, and definitely attractive. As, mind you, is the rest of ren. Ren, its intended as a compliment, personality wise, as you come across on I2 certainly, and looks-ways as well, you are a stunner ren. The irlen lenses I think, the color of them brings out the aspie death stare.
If people don't quite know what I mean, its a look I've found common to people on the spectrum, where their stare appears to go straight through someone and end at a point just behind where the exit wound would be.
A lot of auties and aspies seem to do it. Although many others, Kanner's auties especially have often a way of like...kinda appearing to be within their own deeper thought, with this sort of look that more or less holds the body itself loose, with the head turned upwards and outwards, somewhat diagonally to the side, as if looking just short of over their shoulder, but eyes often pointing quite the other way. Kassiane/rettdevil does that, she has that variant of the autie look to her, and my god, especially the way she does it, hers is more than simply beautiful, but, as with said lady generally, a living, breathing drop-dead-gorgeous work of art.
The second kind of autie look I just described, does seem quite a measure more common in people closer to the classical end of the scale than it seems in aspies. Especially when auties are stimming. I've ALWAYS really had the hots for that look in autie girls, theres just that something about it that for some reason, is most fine and alluring.
There seems a kind of honesty about it, that it is in no way being done specifically to be a 'come hither', theres no Siren about it but being done for the person themselves, its what makes THEM feel damn good (at least, it does me, when I'm stimming and for others too from what they tell me), which, I think again, is why I find it so frickin' sexeh :D

Its the kind of look that says 'I could scoop out your eyeballs with a melon baller and stick them in their sockets again backwards to leave you looking at your own frontal lobes', which for whatever reasons, is quite unbelievably attractive, and shes got a cracker of a smile too. Might be an evil aspie death-stare but its a sexy-as-hell look and you must have a REALLY shit phone if it complained. Can't be that shitty a phone (I guarantee you mine is much crappier no matter WHAT your using, unless you hacked it together out of a cat's whisker and managed to knock up a primitive phone out of the whisker radio.) And even then...yours has a camera, so its at least SOMEWHAT better, mine when I first had one of that type (I've definitely gone through two, possibly three, I think this is my fourth, or possibly fifth) cost about £20-25 brand new, The one I have now is either second- or third-hand)
It can call both landlines and mobiles, it can text, store a few texts and store my phone numbers. It even tells the time, has a calculator on it and an alarm function for when it really REALLY wants to show off:P)
I'd like a better one when I can afford it, that fr.ex. can access the net, play music and run apps. I actually hate smartphones, every one of them I've ever had to use, from my old man's new smartphone to the one owned by a hobo guy I a few times picked up certain portions of certain biologically active organic molecules, so I could use one of these really neat IR spectrophotometers that plug in to I think, the iphone.
