Title: The People vs MLA
Post by: odeon on February 15, 2013, 12:30:55 AM
Couldn't help the title. Thought it to be hilarious, in fact.

But more seriously: I see a lot of underhanded bitching about MLA by other members. This is fine, of course, as I2 is not the place for moderation and hushed words, but if there is sand in your vaginas about what he says or does, don't you think a callout would be more honest?

What I see now is cowardice. MLA is good at debating, I know, but if you think you have an actual point to make, don't you think it's time to make it?

Well I am merely mirroring the cowardly behavior displayed by MLA. :) I am a tad busy, though, so responses will not be as swift. I find MLA's behavior repetitive and boring. He always has something to "prove" to everyone here. His posting history and karma log is proof. I will supply it tomorrow. I have screencaps.

He beats his chest in an over exaggerated attempt  to appear like he is an alpha male. He is delusional, living in an online fantasy world on this forum where he is the "star". He talks shit about "whiny emos", yet is one himself. He is a delicate little flower. He is even more sensitive than I am. And that's really saying something.....

If MLA crosses paths with me in a debate, I simply refute his statements, and he really does not bother me.

He does his thing, and I do mine.

Also, he is a bloody attorney in he making, of course he can hold his own in a debate.

I have not seen anything underhanded in what Rage or DFG has said to MLA. Both have been very open and clear in expressing disdain. As for whether it should go to callout or continue as it is going, MLA has gone after Lestat without any callout by either that I can recall. I don't consider that cowardly on either part, they just don't like each other. I personally prefer to argue with people in what ever thread their statement I disagree with was posted in. If that is cowardly than mea culpa. You may have noticed that every callout I have been in was initiated by the other party.

I too will go head to head with anyone I disagree with, but then i do not think that his thread was made for me in mind.
I do not think that Rage or DFG are being subtle with MLA or he with they. How far any of the three want to take things is I guess up to them.
I think this place is a place that opinionated and strong blokes and girls are likely to prosper and the weaker ones not so much. Either being the type of person to whom everyone likes and feels like defending and/or not attacking, or conversely the type of person who doesn't give a shit and happy to fight whomever and defend their opinions.
Particularly for the men, it is a place where those that like a good verbal battle and a bit of aggro, do ok.

So IS MLA and Rage fighting for dominance to see who is the Alpha male on I2? If so it is a pointless endevour because I am  ;)

My problem with their current approach is that it feels as if both currently shy away from a direct confrontation. There's nothing subtle about their disdain but they also do not call him out on any of it.

Of course this is merely my take on it, it's how I see it. But then, that's par for the course, too. I'll say pretty much what I think here.

I asked Rage some pointed questions that he chose to ignore, instead calling in a girl to fight his battles for him.  To be honest, I expected better.

He clearly didn't need to  :zoinks:

Do you fight his battles because you have a crush and hope that he will feel obligated to somehow pay you back?  Or do you think he is weak and vulnerable and simply needs protecting from the jagged edges of the internet?

If he didn't ask you for your help, why are you in such a rush to make him look like he needs it?  Don't you think he can handle himself?

That wasn't exactly a statement about you in particular; just that it happens. Off the top of the head, would say no to you in particular. Though if the answer were yes, the answer would still have to be no, and the why behind the inability to point exactly to such things is obvious.

I did use the newsbox  to take the piss out of cupcake...once.   Tried to not post nasty stuff since.    It's tricky because i read about people wanting 'site news' but then you have to tread on eggshells if you mention people.  Posting jokes alone is grand because i can tickle meself stoopid... but then, you get people moaning about the content in jokes, and that they want more site news.... i say it's a thankless job that requires a lot of time to please everyone and if anyone wants it just come and take it and i will pretend to be dozing.

I might post my shopping lists till then.  Or my fb scrabble clues?  Perhaps a list of baby names?  a fair isle knitting pattern for a tank top?  or maybe my vital statistics   someone somewhere would be offended.

I don't think it is weak.  It is a bit out of order.  I thought the general rule in life was to use whatever you got to get ahead.  Be it looks, brains, an uncle who happens to be a judge,  money, influential friends,  or indeed your high profile job titled news box slave  :zoinks:

It ain't so big in the bigger scheme of things.

Idea
Odeon could make MLA a news box slave as well.  then we could have the arguments right at the top of the screen.  save all that sifting through threads :headbang2:

It's not a big deal, Bodie, and I don't doubt MLA can handle it, but it is weak IMO. It is another example of why I started this thread.

It's a strange callout, though, because I don't plan to be part of it. Not the way callouts are usually started here.

Title: Re: The People vs MLA
Post by: odeon on February 16, 2013, 03:48:02 AM
I know. :)

I used to have a kitten that would come to my room after his nightly adventures and force his way into the hollow of my armpit, of all places, and sleep there. If I dared to move, he'd make me regret it, but otherwise he'd simply purr and... sleep.

He was an adventurous little kitten. Probably his undoing. Last time I saw him, he followed me when I took the dog out for his nightly walk but then decided to move on when we headed back home.

He loved the night.

That dog was a hundred times his size but guess who was the boss?

I miss them both.

What I see now is cowardice. MLA is good at debating, I know, but if you think you have an actual point to make, don't you think it's time to make it?

I just explained it to Bodie, but here goes: you have a problem with MLA. No biggie, it happens. But instead of doing something about it (=callout) you simply keep on bitching, never really doing anything about it directly other than the roundabout comments and the posting in the newsbox, the one place where he can't reply to you directly. In my book, that's cowardly. Perhaps you think differently.

Bodie didn't have much of an issue with cupcake, AFAIK, and I can't even remember the newsbox text in question. That's how much of an impression it made. Bodie is not one for bitching, not the way you are. Big difference, then.

Don't like it? Call me out.

I'm busy with things that count. How is a callout "more honest"? To me, merely stating my opinion is sufficient. MLA didn't callout every person he picked on. I see no issue here. You are just bored and want entertainment.

I wasn't defending him. I have my own opinion and I have every right to express it. Unlike you, Rage doesn't have a massive, fragile ego in constant need of stroking. (hmm... I *have* been wanting a new custom title...)

You are the Alpha Male on I2?

This will change things.

 So Elle, if you're alpha male, does that mean you can't turn it down if I challenge you to mud-wrestling for the title?

I will when I have the time. When we are both on at the same time and I am not working on something, babysitting my sister's kids, at school, etc.. i'll give you the awesome callout you want, big-o.  ;)

Too busy babysitting?   :hahaha:

I work 40 hours a week and put another 45 - 50 a week into school with the rest of my time spent raising a family, being a decent husband, and even have time to take on home improvement projects.  But here I am, not whining about how I am just too busy to back up my bullshit.

My problem with their current approach is that it feels as if both currently shy away from a direct confrontation.

I asked Rage some pointed questions that he chose to ignore, instead calling in a girl to fight his battles for him.  To be honest, I expected better.

Want to be a little more specific about that? Lets not beat around the bush here fella. If you have a point to make, make it.

Again?  You want me to repost that which you are trying to pretend never happened so you will have to publicly ignore it yet again?  Seems like the wrong move to me, but ok.

Especially when new people show up. Vulnerable people. EASY targets.

Sure, we can pretend like you don't know how to phrase yourself, and that instead of using short, like clauses to tie together a coherent thought you were just babbling like an idiot.  If this is something you prefer.  If you think that my self esteem is in any way tied to what some spazz nutter on this site thinks or says about my intelligence ... well, that's just sad if such a person exists anywhere.  If you think being called a "faggot" is hurtful to me, then maybe you never noticed my liberal leanings.  I admit they can be hard to suss out ;)

So, are you officially announcing yourself the new defender of the vulnerable?  The anti-bully?  Do you judge everyone on your own personal "vulnerability scale" and then decide on your own who is such a pathetic loser that he or she needs your masculine help?  Do you fancy yourself an online superhero of some sort?  Sounds pretty judgmental to me.  Did Ricky ask for your help?  Kit?  Scrappy?  Brucie?  TCO?  You seemed pretty silent back then.  Is this corona dude an outside friend of yours so you have outside knowledge of their vulnerability/dysfunction?

You claim you don't want to argue with me, but we both know better and your actions are showing that either you really do want it, or you can't help yourself.  Either is fine by me.  For the record, I don't "bully" the ones that are easiest.  I "bully" the ones that return the best reactions.  Yes, "picking" on certain people is almost entirely what I do here sometimes.  It's been slim pickings lately.  Thank god you showed back up  :autism:

This one was pretty nice.

So, this kind of exonerates you as you are clearly new to the concept of having a relationship and have no clue how to act in one.  So I have to forgive you for jumping to his aid like his mother.  Unfortunately. this doesn't bode well for poor Rage.  I thought maybe he didn't know what you are doing, but clearly he does and is okay with his girlfriend fighting his battles for him.  Very manly, very brave.  True colors, disappointing.  :-\

Unlike you I do not have an inferiority complex which makes me feel as if I need to control the actions of all around me. She is free do do as she pleases in all things. It's all right to cry
Crying gets the sad out of you
It's all right to cry
It might make you feel better

Raindrops from your eyes
Washing all the mad out of you
Raindrops from your eyes
It's gonna make you feel better

It's all right to feel things
Though the feelings may be strange
Feelings are such real things
And they change and change and change

Sad 'n' grumpy, down in the dumpy
Snuggly, hugly, mean 'n' ugly
Sloppy, slappy, hoppy, happy
Change and change and change

It's all right to know
Feelings come and feelings go
It's all right to cry
It might make you feel better

It's all right to cry, little boy
I know some big boys that cry too

I would love to see the quote where I said something you interpreted that way.  My first interaction with you was a ghey-fest after you took such offense at some things I said to Meadow.

Either you are very short, or you have almost no muscle mass. Because you are blubbery. And no matter how much weight you lose, you will still have that pig snout of a nose. There is no diet in the world that will erase your piggy genetics.

And you're a liar. I'm better looking than what you have.  :)

I know you'll never admit it. That would hurt your wittle pwide. :(

Why don't you post a pic for comparison? :)

I had no idea I was living inside your mind, rent free, for the past year.

I'm flattered.   :eyelash:

Man, come up with your own comebacks.  Stop reading all my fights with Ricky and then try and copy me.  :tard:

I don't read your fucking drivel.

What? you think you're so original that you came up with this saying??

Exactly. In MLA's distorted little world, he is the star and is never in the wrong and everything he says is SO ORIGINAL™.

"Hanging onto resentment is letting someone you despise live rent-free in your head."

I'm sorry, I'm not following your spasmodic jerking of an argument.  I think it's really cute, if a bit sad, that you think I had a thing for you.  It's causing some entertainment in PM anyway ;)

But your argument with me now is that you want to attack my wife because you think you are more attractive than her?  Sorry Duckie, but my wife is the smartest, most capable, most empathetic, sweetest, kindest, sexiest woman I have ever known.  Keep your argument with me, you have absolutely no chance against her.

Don't worry, I have more coming, princess. :)

Also, I am well aware the opinion of mine or yours is subjective. I was stating my opinion which is no more or less relevant than yours. Some will agree with me, some will disagree. You seem to think your opinion somehow matters more than others. I get that impression from some of your posts. I'll go more into detail later, sweetness :p

I work 40 hours a week and put another 45 - 50 a week into school with the rest of my time spent raising a family, being a decent husband, and even have time to take on home improvement projects.  But here I am, not whining about how I am just too busy to back up my bullshit.

An interested party.  MLA and I used to be... colleagues, and I don't care for this new evolution of him.

You're taking the wrong tack here, calling MLA an asshole who picks on LFAs on this site is like accusing the Pope of being Catholic.  Better to ask why a guy who allegedly makes so much money and has such a good life and so little free time chooses to waste that time bragging about a boring job, a quarter of a law degree at a sub University of Phoenix school, a dumpy wife, and life in BFI rather than living that great life for it's own sake.  The fact that he's choosing to boast on Autism sites rather than out in the wild should tell you more than any of the bullying behavior should, i.e. that you're dealing with an extremely insecure personality that needs to "compete" against a handicap in order to feel validation.  But don't mind my kibitzing, handle the call out however you feel like.

    Sand in your vaginas.

At least in this both Odeon and myself are in agreement. I have disagreed with MLA before and he with me. In fact I am pretty sure he banned me from WP.

That all said, I2 gives you the kind of freedom most forums don't. Part of the benefit is that you CAN callout people. If you have a problem with MLA, call him out. Threads like this really ought not exist.

I would have no issue calling out anyone here. I know MLA is smarter than I and no doubt better arguing than I. But I came on I2 knowing what type of site it was. It was a place to back yourself and for others to back themselves. That IS fair and equal. He is just another member as is everyone here.

Anyhow sermon over.

Whatever happened to the power couple?  Did they get married and live happily ever after? Did they at least actually meet?
