some people do. Â but i think the real issue is that they made uptheir mind about what is going on here even before we opened, while we were in the developement stage.
and yes, there have been a few things that have happened that have confirmed these preconcieved notions, but nothing so aweful that it doesn't happen elswhere.
it is a simple excuse is all.
now these people who formed their own opinions are screwed because they are thick in the head. Â they have been rooting, if not plotting the demise of intensity, yet, freedom reigns supremeand we keep getting bigger and better.

Yes it did make sense. But I also believe that its mainly the most open-minded members who've stuck around and we've all developed some understanding of each other. I think the first view of Intensity most people got was that it was basically a WP type site with flaming and swearing (oh and lets not forget the added sex talk). Now I think, whilst being consistant with its orginal purpose, the site (and its members) has actually grown and improved.
I don't think that the members who enjoy Intensity are those with less problems, just those who don't only want to talk about their problems, so some people get the impression that we're not as severely affected as others (which I personally think is BS).
I also view Intensity as a crash-course in real life interaction- in real life there are no 'play nice' rules and pretending that that's the case does not help anyone in the end. We have differing opinions on subjects, yet most of us have learnt to get along despite that and respect other's right to their own opinions; we fall out over issues, yet we learn to move on without bearing a grudge; sometimes something we do annoys the shit out of others, yet most of us have learnt to take criticism constructively and learn from it.
I also think that at the moment some of us are feeling quite protective of the site and its members due to the mud being slung at us all (or is that just me? :laugh:)

PC bullshit has taken over real life issues (and other boards) but its not honest and its not how people actually think.
i agree with the respect, and i think resect comes from consistent behaviour. most of the leftovers (members) tend to be consistent, whether i agree with their outlook or not, i can respect that. i even respect ascan for his consistency, even though i think he is closed minded.

Perhaps it is time these people (including Omega) accepted that Intensity² won't suit everyone, instead of trying to change it to suit themselves, and demonising the rest of us and trying to make out it is something that it isn't. We'd all be happier for it, themselves included.

i would like to see a strong slate of candidates run for election. i want pyraxis' job because she has been a disappointment to me. i would hope for an administrator that is regularily active on the board, or one that doesn't fold so easily once a debate starts.
i would hope that the members would look to an anministrator as a personb who works for them, or keeps them entertained.

the way that i have been balancing my real life and online life is that i take moments of whoring then i take others of family times.
i am sleeping less now, but i am more active.
i am very busy, because i promised myself that i would give more time to my family. i am doing that. but i am becoming exhausted at times.
if i continue to meet these requirements i will stay:
*continue working 40-50hours per week
*continue being involved in my kids lives
*learning to get up from the computer when i have to do something rather than saying, in a minute, then a half hour passes.
i am doing well on all three counts. but if i start to slip or show continued neglect i will have to quit intensity cold turkey.

also, offer insight ONLY, on site policy and other crucial discussions. no voting for mediators.
having a supporting mediator is the same thing as the primary, basically.
two people bouncing perception off each other about these potential problems is way more productive.
and, should a dispute arise, two people would hold each other to a less bias opinion of the situation. working together as a team.
basically, and we hope, that a mediator is a title only. if they are doing their job objectively and well, then they will not even be noticed, doing their job.
and they should NEVER lock threads in the members forum, nor try to mediate disputes among members. that is the freedom of the board, the members police themselves.

A jury convicted 29-year-old Mark R. Downs Jr. of corruption of minors and criminal solicitation to commit simple assault, Fayette County authorities said.
Downs was acquitted of criminal solicitation to commit aggravated assault, and jurors said they were deadlocked on a charge of reckless endangerment. The judge declared a mistrial on the endangerment charge.
Authorities said Downs offered to pay one of his players $25 to hit a 9-year-old autistic teammate with a ball while warming up before a June 2005 playoff game.
The verdict means the jury believed that Downs asked his player to hurt his teammate, but that the jury did not feel that the autistic boy who suffered bruises and an infected ear suffered ``serious bodily injury,'' District Attorney Nancy Vernon said. Aggravated assault and reckless endangerment both require authorities to prove that serious bodily injury occurred or was intended to occur.
``Certainly, the bruising on the ear fortunately did not amount to serious bodily injury,'' Vernon said. ``That's what (the verdict) boiled down to. It vindicates the fact the little boys, the jury believed they were telling the truth.''
Downs took the stand and denied offering to pay Keith Reese Jr. to hurt Harry Bowers, his mildly autistic and mildly retarded teammate.
Earlier in the trial, Reese testified about Downs' offer, saying he purposely threw a ball that hit Bowers in the groin, then threw another ball that hit him in the ear on Downs' instructions. Bowers also testified about being hit by the balls Reese threw during pregame warmups.
Reese's father, Keith Sr., testified that Downs acknowledged after the game that he did something ``ignorant'' and confessed to the deed. When Downs called the elder Reese a liar during his testimony Wednesday, Reese shouted back ``You're a liar,'' prompting the judge to restore order.
Jury forewoman Michele Lynn, a 28-year-old medical office manager, said the jury believed that Downs told his player to harm his teammate, but they didn't believe his injuries were serious enough to warrant the aggravated assault and reckless endangerment charges.

i am so proud because my best player had the flu and only played half charged for half the game, and my second strongest player is on vacation.
they other team scored with 10 seconds left in the game. my defense forgot their training about how they are to conduct themselves in the panic zone (the area right in front of the goal.
i taught them that they do not think, they just kick the ball out of bounds. they hesitated.
oh, well. still i am proud they worked hard, played as a team, and had fun.

I don't mind the texture as much as the sound of chewing them. They squeak and it makes my teeth itch to hear them. Very few of them actually have any flavor to me, but the Chanterelle, which I find in the woods here, are awesome.

The thing that gave me the most trouble when my daughter was in the hospital when she was a baby was that nasogastric tube. They actually wanted me to stick that thing down her nose into her stomach. They gave me a stethoscope so I could listen and hear whether it was in her stomach or lungs, but I could not really be sure how it was supposed to sound. It would be really bad if it had gone into her lungs, of course. I did not want to do it, so the nurse made me do it with her hand over my hand, but my daughter cried the whole time and so did I, so the doctor decided to send us a home health care nurse to take care of putting in the tube, if it came out.

I used to work at a mushroom farm and those particular mushrooms (the one of which you have pictured) were also called Swiss Brown.

it wasn't so bad. but i was constantly trying to gag it back up as it was going down.
they did it to me twice. the second time it was much easier, because they had me drinking water as it went down.

i have had two bowel obstructions in my life. one when i was born, another 35 years later.
i am thinking that by the time i get my third one, i will simply live with a device that takes my waste from me.
