They tazered a student at my sons school today

WTF they had 4 cop cars there plus the school security.  I don't know much about it yet but he had no weapon and was just 15.  This in a town that had a tazer death in police custody late year after the coked up guy was just thrown in a holding cell for a couple hours before anyone checked him

They are talking of a boycott at the school now because the kid was black we have almost no black people in town so I don't think its going anywhere.  For me color is meaningless they should not have done it period and I will go to any hearings they have on it .  Also my opinion  of the police  is my town I thought could not go any lower but it has

School security? I could not imagine there being any at my school.

They have 3 or four security guards at the school to "help" out the teachers I don't get it but that either

They should need that sort of security here, schools in Ireland and the UK make yank schools look harmless. :boxers:

glad i didn't go to school in ireland. :P my schools were tré safe. except mentally. :zoinks:

in the uk they stab people. it's ridiculous.

The chances of that are so slim and it happens in very few areas. The only problem here is media hysteria.

When I was in high school we had no security guards and everyone had a knife but more as a tool than anything else.  We also had a rifle team.

In the US the police are becoming incredibly militarized. They used to use the war on drugs as an excuse; now it's that plus the war on terror to justify bringing in SWAT teams in non-hostage, non-lethal situations and shooting dogs whether said dogs are attacking or retreating. Overkill is now the norm: if the Police Captain bought a bunch of toys for the kids in her neighborhood, just found out she has breast cancer and doesn't answer the door when we knock, then bring in SWAT and knock the door down! They'll even do it to their own now. I believe it's to get citizens resigned to accepting US troops stationed in US cities, which is a clear violation of the Third Amendment. Look it up.
