I am talking organ donation.

Current position in UK:  those who want to donate organs after death carry a consent card.

However, there is a current move to make it so if you don't want to you have to opt out and carry a card saying so.

In other words organ harvesting will affect all those who don't make a point of opting out.

What do you think?

I would not have much use for them at that point.  Why not let someone else have them? 

I understand why people are nervous about organ donation, but I think that the overall benefit outweighs the personal risks. 

It won't matter for long, anyway.  People will probably opt to custom order a fresh, laboratory-grown organ over a used one in the near future.

My organs are for those who want them, after I die. I made an exception though. They're not getting my bloodvessels and arteries. The thought of people handling my bloodchannels freaks me out. So, when I got a letter asking to tick what I was willing to donate, I ticked all but that one. Silly, I know. The codicil I had before that, I was offering all they could use.

Sometimes I think of changing the donation offer though. And tell them to make sure with my kids that it is OK. As soon as they are adults, they should be able to deal with a dead body still seeming alive, because of the machines keeping it functioning till the organs are harvested.

The discussion about making donation default or not is a discussion that comes up in my country now and then too.

If someone receives your royal blue blood, does that make them a royal as well?   

I'm A+ too.  I tend to be anemic and I often pass out when I give blood.  Fun!

I never even got dizzy or anything. I have poppy outey veins and i'm always burning up, so maybe I just have high blood pressure or something?

Dude how do you not know if you signed up to have your organs cut out when you die?

The cut-off age for organ donation in the US is 70.  I can understand that, but would think that skin donations would be allowed.  I only have a little over 6 years before the cut-off.  At least I can give blood after 70.

Nope, Rage.  Royalty can only be gained through birth, temperment, up-bringing or marriage. 

Besides those castles can be awfully drafty and damp.  That's why we make so many public appearances.  We're trying to warm up and dry off.
