Nope, they can't/won't do anything unless there's evidence they're being physically abused, which they're not
They're also pretty stupid, ie if they go round to visit, they give notice well in advance, so obviously she'll have cleaned up the house and be being really nice (you guys shoulda seen the tate their house was in last year. when their dad went round to collect his stuff he went back to the car and got his camera to take pictures. there was literally dog shit on the floor)
they've also been completely incompetant. They got H (the 13 year old) in trouble with her mum by letting her know that H had been telling us things about what her mum was doing. Surely it would be obvious NOT to let the mother know that?
The school don't seem to be doing that much, although apparently she's had to see an attendance person and some other people
They won't actually Do anthing though
Although it's not suprising that social services do fuck all when you look at some of the high profile cases in the recent past, ie young childred/babies who've ended up murdered
