How is that nasty? He accused me of being selfish. It actuyally really offended me when he said is sounds like someone rich wanting to get richer.
That's absurd, McB. You missed the whole point and I could have worded it better, I'm sure. The cliche that the rich are never going to be happy, no matter how rich they become was my reference - not you being selfish by hoarding your looks and wanting to improve on "perfection" or whatever you're thinking I said about you. It's like you only read the part that you could turn ugly and did not bother with the rest.
I'll say it again:
You misunderstood me. We all want to improve ourselves, at least until we lose interest. Of course looks have little to do with self esteem, but That is the real issue, isn't it? Improving your looks will do little to bolster your self image and that IS my point.
Sorry, I don't see what you're getting at.. If I felt better about the way I looked, It would improve my self image.
I think what's he's trying to say is that no matter how beautiful you are, it's not going to change the way you feel about yourself. If you had the bigger boobs like that girl in the bouncing picture, would you really feel better about yourself? You have to change your self image, because reaching for perfection isn't going to do anything for you. Even if you achieve what you think is perfection, if you still have low self-esteem you're not going to be happy with it. I've met some really ugly fucking people who thought they were the mutt's nuts, and I've also met some really beautiful people who thought they were shit.
I heard somewhere that our attitudes are preprogrammed, no matter what happens in life you're gonna feel the way you're programmed to feel. People win the lottery, but still feel like shit, then other people become paralyzed in a car accident but still love life.
