Shawn, you're really just seeing one side of the picture unfortunately. I was mobbed and bullied by five of these charming people last night and was holding my own against three of them but when a couple more sunk the boot in, I then did wh...at I should have done long before and that was to block them. One little twerp used anti woman hate speech against me; if I had said anything about his preferences, I'd have been in the worst trouble imaginable. Another one said my parents were apes - mind you, apes are intelligent and often friendly creatures so it isn't as big an insult as she thought.

Well, you obviously haven't read the hateful comment he wrote last night that I was "a frigid old cow". Apart from being totally untrue, it is hate speech and bullying. I notice a distinct lack of understanding about many things and maybe when he and you grow up you might understand more about life.

Carmel Anne Jones Ah, I don't know. I can tell you he has a phenomenal memory for footy and cricket scores, music, and things he was doing on a particular date many years ago. He is legally blind and maybe had to memorise information instead of relying on reading it.

There has never been any implicit veracity to anyone's statements on here. We all treat any information as unverified, even the identities of the parties concerned is unverified.

Deliberate untruths with the intention of misleading are more serious and it behoves us to be wary of what anyone says. Therefore all such discussions of "he said", "she said" etc are meaningless.

Foul and abusive posts, on the other hand, can be found to be offensive. I find them so. One should not be surprised therefore if they lead to opprobrium, lack of acceptance and ultimately to rejection from some parts of society.

I think this is terrible. They are talking about us basically behind our backs. We have someone reading it all for us, though. I fail to understand how we can talk about this when we are blocked. The more anybody tells him he shouldn't swear, the more he will. For the record, he has always been kind and thoughtful in his dealings with me and has never sworn at me in all the time I have known him. Reporting him would be a waste of time; it would only make him feel more aggrieved still.

Kristine Kelly What she said is pretty contradictory, If it is a head injury that is causing him to swear then he would not be able to control it around her. ...... And you are right, there is no moderation at all. The only rules are do not violate the TOS ( like posting child porn or threatening to kill someone, etc) As long as you dont break the law you can do and say anything you want. That seems like it would be a horrible place ? Wrong. It means that people are not forced to be nice to each other but are because they want to be, and friendships are genuine. Most of us are very good friends with each other.

Carmel Anne Jones Shawn, that unfortunately is much of the reason this situation has become so bad. It would have been better for various people to have been warned and banned from the site before all the insults etc. got completely out of hand. Unmoderated sites might work on occasion but you really need some checks and balances.
