wow! looks alien or futuristic! wish the shardes were cemented together though because it would be a shame for it to erode sharp glass along the beach and into the sea. *sigh....  it looks really cool though.

 :bigcry: You're back!  :bigcry:

Hey Genesis! How are you? you still into baseball? (i hope im remembering correctly...you did used to like baseball right? cubs fan?)

Yeah, I'm still a baseball fan (mostly Cubs). I'm fine.... just been working as a janitor part-time :-/

Is the job enjoyable? I was going to say "nice!", but noticed your emoticon isnt exactly looking pleased [ :-/ ].

The people interaction is okay, it's just something I don't want to do for the rest of my life. (Which is why I'm wanting to go back to school)

What kind of jobs would you most enjoy if you had the opportunity?

Probably something I would enjoy doing if I was self-employed. :-/

Myrtle is gone.  :bigcry:

That was the name of my dad's first wife.  World War 2 marriage didn't make it through the peace.

It was the name of the first turtle whose name I even knew.

I don't think I can ever know another turtle in the same way again.

Myrtle is a large gopher tortoise who has lived in our fenced backyard for probably eight years. They're a protected species so we just left him alone and let him do his turtle thing. But he never left the yard and he didn't mind our presence or even the dog. He's been gone for a week and he's been a part of our life so long, it's like loosing a pet. :emosad:

That's cool as hell.

Don't give up hope, they can live a long time from what I'm reading...and April is the start of mating season.

The first year he showed up there were two of them, and they would come and go from the yard to the woods through a hole in the back fence. But within the first year the smaller one left, though Myrtle stayed and stopped venturing into the woods. Sugarbutt is hoping he's off mating, but I think it's weird he's never left to look for a mate in so many years.  :dunno:

Did he return?
Can't you guys even just imagine it?

Forget practicality, or your experience....can you just....imagine?

It's there. It always was.

Here's the thing, though: phones disrupt without being useful because you have to answer there and then. With the very fast letters you're allowed to think, you're allowed to wait before you answer, and you can attach files, pictures, anything you want.

What's really funny is how people insist on having a meeting about every little thing. Endless discussions, new meetings, people brought in to make decisions, more meetings. That very fast letter is a better option.

Unless, of course, you're talking to your mum.

I always talk to my mum rather than sending her a "letter".
