i'm like that - hearing like a bat (all right - i know it's sonar and not hearing per se, but you know what i mean).  useful in classroooms, mind you.  i terrify the kids, cos i can be writing on the whiteboard, and point at whoever's talking when they shouldn't be, or saying something inappropriate, without turning round.   

i hear everything too. any sound distracts me, other people seem to be unaffected. like my mom grinding her teeth, it drives me crazy.

The anxiety is related back to the AS and to be honest it seems to be improving with the Cognitive Behaviour Therapy I have been doing.  I don't have any other 'conditions' as such, just the AS is enough for me, thanks!

I came here 9 years ago to finish university.  Previous to that I lived at the beach up north after I left home.

Me, arrogant?  Never.

Sometimes I come across as being arrogant, but it's not that at all.  My delivery of information isn't so good sometimes.

I very rarely feel disgusted with myself.  At times when I've been down, I guess I felt sad that I was letting myself down, but that's about it.  I was raised to pick yourself straight up the minute you fall.  Can't say I've always liked doing it, but it's just the way I am.
