What was your fasting glucose level?

What are they proposing that you do about this borderline diabetes?

Was the 6.2 number glycated hemoglobin A1C?

If so, then that would correspond to your blood sugars over the last ninety days averaging around 132 mg/dl, which would be indicative of early diabetes.

I guess watching what you eat and exercising more now could help you avoid later complications of diabetes, so it's good they caught it so soon.

Does diabetes run in your family?

No diabetes does not run in my family.

And I am so depressed that my life needs to change.

It's a good thing that you won't need meds.Diabetes is nasty.

I think that you are lucky to have such an early diagnosis.   I hope it is going to be easy for you to manage your diet etc.

Fortunately, as an American, I have health insurance.  I take advantage of it and schedule all my regular tests.

So many Americans do not have this luxury.

A friend of mine researches this stuff at Eli Lilly. He says there might be some real improvements with diabetes meds soon, too.

I think they are aiming at getting rid of the needles for good.

Think of all the tasty broccoli you can eat now.

Broccoli is really delicious!  :2thumbsup:  Will you have to monitor your blood sugar?

Couldbecousin(loving), no.  He suggested I lat off sugar and starches and exercise.

I will have more bloodwork done in three months.
