Not so serious: Domesticated animals.
« on: October 03, 2011, 07:05:33 PM »
Sometimes, I wonder about the many immoralities of mankind. There is one particular thing I have wondered about today, as I was walking around the neighborhood, I heard dogs barking. Why are they there? Why do they even exist? What is the purpose of these domesticated animals, other than to just sit there, bark at other dogs and people, sleep, and wait for the occasional meal and attention from their owners? Why do people insist on having these animals for no reason other than as a "friend"? When in reality, they are nothing more than an "object" and are treated as such.

Some people treat their dogs like shit, some people care for them, some people want to show off their dogs at pet shows and stuff. Does it really matter in the end? No, it doesn't. And let me tell you why: For the most part, domesticated animals do not have a purpose. Now, there are farm animals and dogs which can assist their owners in hunting, they are the exception. Does it not seem infinitely cruel that we have bred these animals for hundreds of years, to be just living "toys"? Because that is exactly what is happening.

Look at your cats and dogs, rabbits and hamsters, whatever you have as pets. They are living the most torturous and meaningless lives in the animal kingdom. They have become so dependent on their owners, that they could not fend for themselves in the wild at all. And they have been bred to be this way. That is extremely detestable. Even a pig at a farm, which would be slaughtered for food, has much more purpose than most pets will ever have.

And let's face it: Only a human would give a shit about another human. Your pet doesn't care about you. And this planet is becoming overpopulated with WORTHLESS animals that disrupt the ecosystem, just like humans are doing. Humans are the stupidest animals that God has ever placed on this beautiful green Earth.

BTW: This isn't serious at all. I just wanted to see what would happen if I said this. :orly:

Don't be talking that PETA shit. Lol. Seriously though, the purpose of pets is to make people happy; they've been proven theraputic. Though on a philosophical level, yes, do agree there should be no domestic animals and not just pets. However, am cold hearted when it comes to medical research.

I think that dogs and cats that are well looked after are probably happy.

I don't think it's good to own an animal, and then not treat it well. That's one reason I will never have a pet. I worry that I'd be a good owner for a few weeks, and then get bored of it and just ignore it.
I'm allergic to dogs and cats as well, so that's another reason why I wouldn't own one.

So, if someone offered you a little pussy (cat), you'd say, "No thanks, it's useless"? :tickle:

All animals must die.

Just kidding. I love my dog.

Actually, my dog's not a dog. He's a human with dog syndrome.

Who put the cat in catapault? I dunno but I think he had good, fun reasons.  :autism:
I2 today is not i2 of yesteryear. It is a knitting circle. Those that participate be they nice or asshats know their place and the price to be there. Odeon is the overlord

.Benevolent if you toe the line.

Think it is I2 of old? Even Odeon is not so delusional as to think otherwise. He may on occasionally pretend otherwise but his base is that knitting circle.

My cat and my dog definitely do not live shit lives - they get to sleep all day and fuck around as and when they like. they get fed, sheltered (was gonna say "and clothed" then until I thought about it for a second) and all they have to put up with for all that is my pestering them sometimes and kissing the cat on the mouth

they're there for companionship. not pointless

Honestly?

I have far more empathy for animals and insects than I do humans , infact I honestly borderline despise humans.
And no this isn't the squid persona going to my head , just me outright disliking most of my own species.  :autism:

I keep these thoughts to myself as they aren't exactly popular and I cba to debate them most of the time , I despise animal testing and cruelty even if it's for medical research I just can't personally justify it.

and yet........I'm a meat eater... I hold the biggest double standrad going.  :dunno:

Excuse my channeling Schleed and PETA there.  :zoinks:
I'll just diagnose myself as Goddess of the Universe and have done with it. Hell with autism!  :green: :zoinks:

nice is just something written on biscuits.

haha yeh I am a meat eater but feel the same way as you really. I am against animal testing too and generally prefer other animals to humans. although I am no longer the misanthrope I was a few months ago. I still prefer cats  to people (unless those people have awesome tits and make me feel funny in my chest :P )
