There's a fly in my quarters... being an annoying little pest -_-

There may be a bird in our house.  :lol1: I let the dog out from the sunroom and when I came back in there was a bird bouncing against the windows. I went to grab a towel to try to catch it but when I got back I couldn't find it. It wasn't anywhere near the door and I was only gone for a minute, so I'm not convinced it found its way out.  :dunno:

That would have freaked out my German grandmother. Something about having a bird get in the house was a bad sign and brings ill tidings with it.

I don't think I've ever heard that superstition.  :orly: I looked it up and I guess in some cultures it means the opposite and it's good luck for them, or the meaning depends on the type or color of the bird. It was a carolina wren and I read wrens keep people from drowning. We haven't seen it since it happened, so I think it made it back out.  :dunno:
  We can hope.

My old heritage from Germany is from the forests and having birds everywhere was common. Keeping them away from your home was a problem. And people lived with livestock in the house back then, but not little birds.

Hell, I have lived here through two springs and summers now and both years I have had a nest appear inside my front porch eve. This year it was two nests.
The birds want what I have.

Ghandi: Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

The end result of life's daily pain and suffering, trials and failures, tears and laughter, readings and listenings is an accumulation of wisdom in its purest form.

I was always told that by my mother who was of German descent.   My wife is very afraid of birds so one getting in the house would be a really bad thing

^Plus you have cats, as do we. I'm surprised that we haven't had a bird fly inside because we leave the back door open for the cats during the day when we're home.

We have very big trees out the front of our house with lots of birds in them.

Not to mention the personality assessments they use to weed out their candidates

I find it relaxing to draw weird designs on the covers of notebooks.

I actually know someone with NPD.  She works hard to stay on top of her traits and be accountable.  Although I can't say we're especially close.

The original quote I found...."You can and you can't--you shall and you shan't--you will and you won't--and you'll be damned if you do--and you will be damned if you don't."   Lorenzo Dow, Methodist preacher, 1810-1820

My addendum to said quote...."When faced with damned if you do and damned if you don't--choose the easier damned."  --me
"Some books are to be tasted.  Others to be swallowed.  And some few to be chewed and digested."  --Sir Francis Bacon

"Civilization exists by geologic consent.  Subject to change without notice."  --Will Durant

I need to replace the USB-C to USB-C cord to my charger for my laptop, it's not responding appropiately. Might as well do the same for my phone?

At least she's making effort

There's like 70 new fire incidents pop up today around Tenterfield! Holy Shit! Must have had a dry lightning storm roll through.
