he often would "snap" flies away from him, instead of squashing them
then i told him "when you do that, you will inevitably cause cracks in their exoskeleton, leading to a slow death by infections"
he got SO sad

yup.
they ARE after all very tiny. and compared to them, we are endlessly powerfull.
he also mowed the lawn once, saw a huge earthworm, and didnt stop in time. that also ruined his day

both me and my dad have attempted to revive big stranded beetles, by giving them water, and watching it actually drink that water

ive kept a wasp on my hand, saving it from starvation-death in the bus, and also fed a wasp salty ham
