You really think that parents can beat the issues that go along with autism out of their children?
I see your point about not taking them to the movies while they are actually misbehaving, but if you have a child with issues that arise mostly in public, then how will s/he ever learn to behave properly in public if the parent keeps him or her at home all the time? Sure, you could avoid some difficult situations by just keeping them at home, but I think that is a short-sighted approach.
Autistic children do not melt down in public just to spite their parents.
