Pakistan
« on: December 27, 2007, 07:31:16 PM »
What do you guys think will happen in Pakistan now that Benazir Bhotto was assassinated?  It's very unsettling considering it is a nuclear power and has so many fundies
I hope things go well but something tells me a lot of people are going to die in the few months.  Imagine living there

Yeah. I used to have it on when I was editing,
or playing a boardgame. Don't do it with the
computer games. Probably just not having the
station I had been used to. Others don't catch me
as easily.

People will die, there'll be general unrest and the US will keep throwing money at the military dictatorship as an ally in the war on terror and hippies while downplaying the civil unrest and unpopularity of said military dictatorship.  I doubt anything particularly dramatic will happen, at least by Pakistani standards.  That country's governments arrive and leave through a bloody revolving door.

I got really used to the PBS station
in Buffalo. Had some NPR stuff, and
BBC, ooh, and also CBC. Was a good
mix. There were shows that were
pretty obnoxious, but most of it
was good. Then, I couldn't find
anything like it. Tried air america,
here, and it was AWFUL. Just as
bad as Rush.

Just a thought imagine being an aspie in a country like this it would be hell it's bad enough here at times

don't listen to the news, it's depressing and there's nothing you can do.

Actually, the US has historically been far less generous to Pakistan's democratically elected governments than to it's military dictatorships.  The dictatorships suit US interests in the region, while the democracies do not.
