I need to speak with someone who knows their stuff about pain meds. If tramadol, codeine and other strong opiates aren't enough and the doc won't give me morphine for at home what the hell do I do? ???

Have you been on Oxycodone or Hydrocodone yet?  Fentanyl patches?
I haven't had any of those yet. I think oxycodone doesn't go well with very low blood pressure and seizures, not sure on that though ???. Hydrocodone is illegal here, class A. I'll ask about them patches though, thanks!

Edit: oxycodone is a class A drug too over here. Oh well :P

 :(

Oxycodone is what I used after my ankle surgery.  I think that it's one of the strongest oral opiate drugs and for me, it worked very well for my pain.  I'm sorry that you can't get it.

There is one thing more powerful than oxycodone.
I have been on
oxycodone
hydrocodone
oxycontin
morphine
dilaudid

Also had
carisprodol (many years ago)
zanaflex
ativan

I broke a lot of bones in my back but the strongest meds came when I broke my sternum. I had to argue with them to reduce things.
Naproxen worked better for me but I couldn't have it because my kidneys were malfunctioning.

Dilaudid was the strongest but the withdrawal symptoms were hell. Dunno about withdrawal from morphine as they switched me to oxycontin from that. The oxycodone they gave me as a booster because I did not want to take a lot of oxycontin.
I take naproxen and arnica now - no withdrawal symptoms.

Some narcotics will lower your blood pressure and breathing rate but others might raise it and increase the risk of a seizure. People I know who have been in a lot of pain have recommended acupuncture, but I could not afford it so I don't know how well it might work.

My friend recently had shoulder surgery and tried a lot of different meds for six weeks. None of them seemed to work and she went back to the doctor desperate for something for the pain. She was given Fentanyl patches and wishes she had them weeks ago. The only side-effect she has noticed is feeling a bit tired during the day.

If you think of them as powers you might end up doing just that.

True , I'm just using that term because I can't think of another though.  :P
I'll just diagnose myself as Goddess of the Universe and have done with it. Hell with autism!  :green: :zoinks:

I think that is the problem with many former WP mods. They really see those permissions as powers when they should seen them as responsibilities.

Cleaned up a lot of my old clothes today. Now the family room is cluttered with large bags and mum has no room to iron. Oops :-[
