I try not to worry anyway.  It's no fun.

I sometimes moan, though.  Then it helps to switch the news on and find my own problems are trivial compared to being gassed, bombed, tortured or forced to leave my home and country with nothing more than the clothes on my back.

When I say 'helps' i mean helps me appreciate what i have got and enjoy it.

Bodie hates bodie mostly when she finds herself despondent over a broken nail.  *slap slap*

Bodie is lovable  :blonde:  and should not hate herself.

True. She is a lovely and funny lady.

Bodie, don't hate Bodie. Hate is a strong word. You are a beautiful and interesting lady :)
Can't you guys even just imagine it?

Forget practicality, or your experience....can you just....imagine?

It's there. It always was.

Um we all know that Bodie is lovable, funny, yadda yadda yadda, but why is no-one mentioning that she is also HOT!
I'm surprised no one has said this. That is all. I am not gay for Bodie.

I could say something very funny but I think I will bite my tounge, because it won't be view'd as lighthearted and funny I'm afraid.

"Beautiful" says I appreciate your loveliness
"Hot" says I wanna fuck you

Have no need to trivialize my own problems by comparing them to things out of my control.

^ This.

The angst and guilt that kind of thinking can create in those with big hearts is unbearable.  (SG ;) )

For others it is used as an excuse to justify a lack of effort to resolve their problems.

This topic reminds me of one time, someone explained to me this is why they watch Jerry Springer, to feel like they're 'not so bad'. It's kind of the same think, not even sure what to call it. Just because there's someone somewhere in the world who has it worse, doesn't truly have reflection on me.

Yes, but do you also respect yourself?  You should.

Well I reckon little bit of A and little bit of B.
It is Intensity so if you disagree, then you should argue. If someone misrepresents you, you should take them to town.
That said, it ought to be rational, honest and fair, and also inline with the shit going on.
A few years ago a drop in member (sophist of asdgestalt.com) said something I disagreed with. I overreacted by a few days later I had realised I had really gone too far. 6months or so later, she dropped and I was waiting with a sincere public apology. She did not remember but I did and an apology was merited
I2 today is not i2 of yesteryear. It is a knitting circle. Those that participate be they nice or asshats know their place and the price to be there. Odeon is the overlord

.Benevolent if you toe the line.

Think it is I2 of old? Even Odeon is not so delusional as to think otherwise. He may on occasionally pretend otherwise but his base is that knitting circle.

Censoring/banning/restricting/moderating myself, Calanadale & Scrapheap were all not his finest moments.

How to apologise to Scrap

My ex loves that stuff.  He called it self-fulfilling television.

Then I would tell him to quit using words he doesn't understand.     Nothing "fulfilling" about being self-righteous enough to believe that being able to look down on someone justifies one's own faults.  The viewer is no more fulfilled after viewing than they were before.  I'd say "deluding" would be more appropriate.

Self-Deluding Egovision? Too long.  Let's just call it shit.

People actually watch those shows to feel better about themselves?  :zombiefuck:

Fuck, when I watch those shows I get all kinds of angry and frustrated about the justice system, about media, about culture, about living conditions, about media...ARRRR, I can't watch those shows!

I can't imagine someone feeling better after watching it. Wtf!? That just makes me feel queasy. A whole nation of "shit".

Can't you guys even just imagine it?

I thought people watched it because they had a perverse obsession with drama... but my God, they watch it so they can look down upon others and feel a bit higher up!!! >:(

That is....that's an -ism if I ever saw one.
