I was thinking a while back that maybe we should change the name from Intensity Squared to Intensity Square.

Evolution in a forum is inevitable.  We're aging as a group.  Our interests and needs are probably not the same as they were when we joined.

Autism is possibly more accepted/understood by others than before.  Newcomers may not feel the need for an on-line group as much now as even 5 years ago. 

(Not interested in a discussion, just some thoughts.

Agreed.  I considered staying away because of the nastiness.  That's why I started the Good Clean Humour thread.  Trying to post something cheery (and cheesy) to maybe encourage members to check in.

Thank you.  I found I actually enjoy the frustration of looking for jokes.  And I've come to really appreciate that humour is personal.  What I find hilarious someone else will just show a deadpan expression to.

Can't stomach Twitter. Or Tumblr. I know that's where everyone's gone, but it's impossible to have real conversations there, and there's no feeling of community.

It's the nature of I², and the personalities that stick around. For some it's only fun for a while, and after that while it stops being fun and becomes something else entirely.

For me this place can sometimes seem down right nasty and exceedingly unfriendly. Very unwelcoming indeed. I can only imagine what it might seem like to someone with a similar personality as like me who doesn't have history with the site...

Not saying I² should change or anything silly like that, just that it's good to be aware of what I² is and isn't, and it isn't the most welcoming of places, so getting new people to come here is always going to be hard, and every member that leaves is going to be sorely felt.

Twitter's 140-character limit always felt like a gimmick to me.

You can write tweets in long chains to get lengthy posts across.
