I've only encountered cold like that in man-made conditions such as a cool room. Even then it was about 2°C. I've worked outside in 0°C but that was the minimum temperature and it got warmer from there.

But it's only November it will get colder,  the worst I have had to work out in is around 0F (-17.8C)

Last time my house heater died, it was around negative twenty two degrees Fahrenheit out there (something like negative thirty degrees in Celsius) with at least twelve inches of snow everywhere. We were not cold yet, because we still had electricity and a few space heaters, very well insulated and well sealed house.
Just finding someone willing to try to come out to our house was a big deal.

BUT, we had to have the heat fixed right away, because this cold was not going away any time soon. Obviously I paid retail for a new heater. Those guys had to shovel massive amounts of waist and chest high snow drifts to gain access to my back lot just to get the thing inside the house through the garage.
Took them most of the day, but when they left we had heat again and it was MUCH colder toward sunset. January!

Yeah, bad day to lose your heat.

I gave them lots of coffee.

My bitch is that I had two contractors set this week as an off week to come by and give me an estimate on a small bit of work I need done.

(Yes, I am planning to pay to have it done, instead of just doing it for myself as I used to do. One of the benefits of being able to give yourself a decent raise when you enter retirement)

Problem is that neither of those contractors showed up as promised. After Monday, with no contact, they are fired and I will find another set of contractors.
