I am mostly off of taking any pain meds, except for OTC.

Only problem I have in coping is that I can feel the exact placement, size, discomfiture, etc.  of my inplanted prosthesis while I am awake. It does not actually throb or anything so annoying. 

It fucking hums!

It fucking hums so loud that I can only Hear/Feel that fucking hum at times and feel nothing or hear nothing more than a fucking hum. I hate humming unless it comes from a tiny bird seeking sugars!

This makes me want to make a screaming dash back to the opiates!!

Is there a way you can mentally make it fuse with the whole orchestra of sounds that your body makes?

I have worked too hard.  I can feel every angle, weight, corner, lack of life within and HORROR of the prosthesis that my body has only just come to begin accepting.
