why are people so all or nothing about everything?

i like a lot of western society policies, but i dislike a lot of it too. why do people get SO worked up about it?

and whats with the "get up and do something about it" argument?
do people SUPPORT the darfur genocide? i dont see anybody running to sudan to pose as human shields against the gvt forces there, but they demand that i do it, or shut up about sudan :S

is that what we're supposed to do? either LOVE a situation, or sacrifice our lives to "do something" about it?

pro qadaffi
pro sudanese genocide
pro dwindling tigers and rhinos
pro japanese nuclear meltdown
pro georgian massacres (not the US state...)
pro kazakhstani excessive execution methods
pro slaughter of amazonian natives
pro mines disguised as toys
pro sri-lankan war
pro somali lack of government AND pro somali pirates AND pro toxic waste dumping in somalia

nobody's leaving their day job to "DO" anything about any of that.

ergo, they support it, with all of their heart, no, they celebrate it! thats the logic.

heres what i suspect. for most people its about fear of change. if we all just aggree that everything is what it is supposed to be, we dont have to risk change. if everyone aggrees that the sudanese genocide (for example) needs to be stopped, it means that we should organize a military intervention to sudan. idunno why this hasnt been done long ago, and for the 1000th time, no, _I_ cant go to sudan all by my lonesome, and start shooting at gvt soldiers there, i dont even own a gun, and much less airplane ticketmoney.............

i just dont see why people get so worked up about it, especially their demand that _I_ stop world atrocities, while THEY are allowed to disagree with it - in silence i guess. im just confused by it all.

Im sure lots of people have opinions and would like to act about things they don't agree with.  unless something is right under your nose or directly affecting you its easier to just complain!  Sudan is just rather a long long way away...

When people complain, it's most times just to be heard. Though the listener will often misunderstand as seeking of advice or solution, which can cause frustraiton for the listener who might not know what to advise, or for the speaker who might not really want to be told what to do. Don't really like to hear people complain as never know what to tell them, so just say nothing and that seems to do fine.
