A "friend" gave me an old set of concert films he had taken ages ago, as a journalist for Rolling Stone magazine in its heyday (back when it had shit besides Lady Gaga's ass or face on the cover) some are on sixteen MM, FFS, but most are on video.
Some of the tapes is a professional format and I will have to scrounge for a deck just to see why it has "Trapeze '81" written on the reel cover. It looks like a sound recording, but I can tell by the style of the reel hub that this is ancient professional, two inch video format, like many old soap operas were shot with and then not kept, but re-recorded on the following week.
Many of the others are typical VHS format, as used by news agencies of the era. They will work on any VHS player.
So, I am going through a bunch of amazing old tapes of concert footage.
