It is far better for people to hate you for doing the right thing than for people to love you for doing the wrong thing. Never ever forget that.

Going to talk about Liam. Lately he's lost some weight. He is a cat that doesn't need to lose weight. He's now lighter than Kira who is smaller. He also sleeps a lot. I know he's getting old but I'm not sure exactly how old he is.

I spoke to my mum about him, wondering if we should take Liam to the vet. She asked is he happy? He seems so, he plays with Kira every now and then. Is he eating and drinking? Yes.

Mum advised not to take him to the vet just yet. They may make him miserable with tests and procedures. They may say we have to give him medication which is really difficult with Liam.

Just thinking about losing Liam almost brings me to tears. And I'm not the crying sort.

Since my previous post Liam has gotten worse so we did take him to the vet. The vet looked at Liam's gums and I was horrified. Obvious jaundice.

So they're going to do an ultrasound on his belly today and we should get results this afternoon.

I keep wanting to run into these cats...

Yet in all honesty, that's going to be awhile

Liam was put down this afternoon. The ultrasound showed he had tumours in and around his liver. Inoperable. So we went back in to say goodbye. He had two injections - one to put him to sleep and the other to stop his heart. It didn't feel real to see that. I closed his eyes.

Kayleigh will be organising his cremation and what happens to his ashes. I'm glad because I don't think I could.

I still think he'll come into my room and jump on my bed. Or come and find me to let him outside or give him some dry food.

Thank you all.

Liam was a great cat, full of character. He used to sleep on my car and object loudly when I got him down. He used to love being outside in the sun (when it wasn't hot).
