There have been times when I have been treated as such.

Why is this?
Title: Re: Ask me about my Super Competitive Rates
Post by: Phlexor on April 05, 2008, 02:50:11 AM
There are times when I save up for things, like new computer stuff, which takes time, so when the wife needs something, she says she will pay be back if she can borrow some from my savings.

I guess that makes me her personal bank.

Are you good at saving money?
Title: Re: Ask me about my Super Competitive Rates

Depends on the amount and what its for really. Plus if there are a LOT of unforseen finacial drains, that usually drags it out. I usually put myself last when it comes to things like that and would rather help the family out with needed things than let my saving get in the way.

I live in Caulfield.

I live in Caulfield.

Yeah, born in Carlton, lived in Upwey, Monbulk, Garfield, Pakenham (3 different houses), Cockatoo, Upwey again (2 different houses), Frankston, Seaford, Chelsea, Cheltenham, Warrnambool (what a hole), and now Rowville.

What I mean by different houses is that I moved from one to another in the same town.

Living here in Rowville is pretty good, close to a lot of things, like Clayton, which is pretty much Computer shop central. About 50 million Asian run PC shops all compeating for your dollar. Also very close to Knox which has a Village V-Max cinema, good for movies you give a shit about and want to see on a very big screen.

Lord Phlexor, do you use X-Box Live (assuming you have an X-Box)?

Not having an X-Box excludes me from such a thing.

But when it comes to online gaming or even LAN gaming, I dont play well against others, I do play well with others though. Co-op all the way. (I've seen this sort of things with a few fellow aspies)

How come you haven't asked me anything in my ask away thread (http://www.intensitysquared.com/index.php/topic,6936.0.html)?

Probably the same reason that I haven't started many threads. I never know what to say or ask. I usually just draw a blank or I'm too self absorbed with thinking that I'm going to appear stupid and foolish when trying to be serious or nosey on a personal level.

Some times I feel I'm only ever good at innuendo or teasing in light conversation or if a problem needs to be solved.

I think at the end of the day I just don't feel entitled to have questions of my own to ask onto others and such. Thats probably the best way I can describe it with my limited ability to put my feelings into words with any kind of accuracy.

I totally made it up in 1991 so as not to mean anything or reflect anything so others wouldnt read anything into it or make assumptions about me.

I found that a couple of other people have since stolen it in the years gone past.

Yeah I know. Every now and again I meet someone who really makes me think about that kinda thing.

Oh and are your rates still super competitive?

What about the global economic situation? No effect?

Considering what services I run[1], fuel is the only real cost that is effecting things. The global economic situation is actually helping things.

[1] The services I offer are subject to secrecy, when you need them you will know.

I mainly made my avatar for my wife to use on Live Messenger 2009 beta because of the animated avatars.

Its a scene from the 4th episode, 2nd season of Black Books called "Blood". About 16m50s into the episode.

Get GA to download it if you guys don't already have it.

Closed minded git who is completely outdated and out of touch with reality let alone the public.

Of course the report that he is burying recommends that there be an <R>18+ ratings for games and of course it points out that the average age of an Australian gamer is now 30 year old.

In my opinion a lot of these GTA type games should already be 18+ and they should be behind a counter and require proof of age to be purchased.

This old cunt just thinks that kids will get them anyway, but the point is, if a games is banned here because it doesn't meet the requirements of MA15+, then people are just gonna pirate it anyway. So in a way, it is pushing people to learn how to pirate.

I hope he dies in a fire and all opposition is gone.

What is more worrying is the nation wide net filter that is being proposed. Although I have a sneaking feeling that it is going to fall through because it just wont work. ISPs don't want it, consumers don't want it. Fuck, you can already get a government sponsored Net filter for free download. I have it on my kids computers, seems to work okay and the kids come and ask me if a site is blocked if they are allowed to have it unblocked and I think I'm fair with my yes/no's on it and the kids accept that.

Yeah I don't much like the heat, I usually sit around the house in my underwear in front of a fan and take a cold shower as needed.

My PC fairs well. Sure it gets louder but I get not BSODs. I have a Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme (http://www.thermalright.com/new_a_page/product_page/cpu/u120ex/product_cpu_cooler_u120ex.htm?art=MTQyMywxLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA==) CPU cooler with 2 Blue Antec 120mm TriCools set in in a push/pull configuration. I also use Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste.  My case isn't the greatest for air flow around the hard drives, don't know what else I can do about that. I've already removed the air filter from the front air intake in front of the hard drives as that was restricting air flow, plus I've added some Scythe Ita Kaze Slim Hard Disk Coolers (http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=207_123&products_id=7595) to them. The RAM im using also has heat pipe cooling and fins, they are OCZ Reaper HPCs.

I think I've been visiting OCAU not long after they went up. But I hard participate in forums much except here. I just don't usually have much to say.

Gonna be getting some new hardware tomorrow for my New Media PC.

SilverStone LC16B-MR Black Case
Corsair VX-450 450W Power Supply
Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P Motherboard
Intel E8400 Core2Duo CPU
Team Xtreem Dark 4GB Kit (2x2GB) DDR2 1066
ASUS Nvidia 9500GT 512MB VGA CArd OC

Then I will have to wait a short while for more funds to accumulate to get the rest which is:

Thermalright Ultima 90I Heatsink (that is if it fits, gonna measure beforehand)
Assorted Noctua 80mm & 92mm fans to put through the case for quietness
LG GGC-H20L-OEM Blu-Ray & HD DVD Combo Drive
Hauppauge HVR2200 MCE PCIe Dual Hybrid HDTV Tuner
Logitech DiNovo Mini Palm Sized Keyboard

Going to hook all this up to my new Panasonic 50" full HD plasma using HDMI  8)

Hi Phlexor,

Don't know if I ever posted a recipe for snert here for you.

Found a decent one in English. Here's the link (http://www.coquinaria.nl/english/recipes/Dutchpeasoup.htm).
I make a meatless one, so I don't think you'd be that interested in my recipe. And I don't have a fixed recipe. Sometimes mood and ingredients ask for a change. It is not time for me yet to make it, too warm right now. So not reading recipes on boxes of green dried peas or split peas yet.

Give it a try and make your own adaptations till you get your own family recipe.

What she said about the soup going sour, I have never had that happen, can't remember my mother ever having that happen either. But, I've read it more than once that it can happen.

Make snert, and tell how it tastes in summer. Or make stampot kale. Kale will grow in summer too. And a freezer can help getting the frost over it, to make it taste better.

Hi, just wanted to pop in to post an update.

I've recently started taking Escitalopram and it's worked wonders. I hope I have no problem taking this long term as its greatly improved my mood and lessened my anxiety to the point where I can deal with things.

I hope you are all doing well and I probably won't be coming back here regularly as I think I'm going to be too busy enjoying my life for a change. Also we recently got a puppy called Merlin. He is a Labrador cross Border Collie and is currently eating everything in our back yard as puppies like to do.

If anyone has has any questions, feel free to post here, but I will probably ignore silly things.

Anyway, catchyalaterguyz...

Matt...

If anyone has has any questions, feel free to post here, but I will probably ignore silly things.

Anyway, catchyalaterguyz...

Matt...

Sounds good. Good to hear it works so well for you. How long did it take for you, before you started to notice an effect?

Good to see you, Phlexor. :)

Could we have a pic of the puppy? I don't think I have seen that mix before.

I'll try and get a pic of the pup as soon as I can.

Regarding the meds, I noticed a difference on the second dose. They say you should notice something within the 1st week, or 2nd at the latest. For me its like being slightly stoned, but without the laziness. I never realised how much anxiety was destroying my life until now.

Long time, no see.

Things haven't been great, the pandemic has my mental health going downhill somewhat. Upgraded my PC like 2 years ago and its been hell. Weird crashes, BSODs, CPU died after a month, got it replaces, its still acting weird. Just order new parts for another upgrade, hope it goes well this time (just finished saving up enough money).

Also might have found my real father through ancestry dot com, so that's odd. Had a dream last night that 2 men came to the door and said they could find my dad, for a fee. In the dream I felt it was a scam and told them to leave etc. Woke up told my wife about the dream so that prompted her to check my account on Ancestry (which we made about a year ago), and it had a new link to some who quite possibly was my father (not sure if I've ever talked about how I never knew my father and my mother was not interested in telling me). So taking it slowly and seeing how things pan out. Not sure how to feel about it.

Turns out I have some viking in me, Norway, Sweden. Around 10%. Perhaps some of that could be explained from my Dutch heritage, who knows, but my alleged father has Norway, Sweden, Denmark. Who knows really.

Not sure what else to talk about, guess people can ask if they are interested, or not. Either way. Turned 50 3 months ago, really feeling it...

Hi Phlexor!

Hope your new computer upgrade goes well this time.

Did the floods over east affect you?

How are your brood?

50 eh? The years go by so fast.

Yeah super nervous about the upgrade, it's been about 3 months since I had the money to buy the parts, but the possible situation in Taiwan prompted me to actually do something about it. Who knows how that's going to play out. We live in some strange times.

We don't live in a flat area, so flooding doesn't effect us, at most we get a lot of water down the road as the drains are slightly over capacity, but that clears up when the rain stops. A few of the inner city low streets in Melbourne will flood for less then 24 hours, and that's it. We have it pretty good here in those regards.

Family is going okay, most of the kids are now receiving NDIS. One get granted nearly $180,000, so that's crazy, our youngest is now 12 and she plays Aussie Rules Football and that has really helped her confidence, which is great, she is ASD/ADHD, so is our other daughter. She is also an amazing artist now. we got her a drawing tablet for her PC last Christmas and she has done amazing things with it. The younger three have finally moved to a better school is the Dandenongs, It's the type of school where they don't have to wear a school uniform and call the teachers by their first name. It's in the hills where a lot of arty alternative hippies live, so the school is somewhat chill. Our youngest has also discovered make up and clothes and is loving expressing herself which is great.

Our 3 eldest boys are now all adults. The eldest moved out under not the greatest circumstances, but I think he just got to that age where he couldn't live under someone else's rules but we discouraged him from moving out because of how expensive that kind of thing is. So things got heated near the start of the pandemic where we felt he wasn't taking it seriously, as I had a few preexisting conditions that would put me under increased risk. He is now living in medium short term housing and out relationship has improved.

The wife has been busy getting us all on the NDIS and I tell you, it's weird having things done for us. We have a guy come and mow our lawns (paid for by the NDIS), we can have our laundry picked up and washed and folded. We can have cleaners come over. The kids have various types of therapists come over. Hope it really helps the kids and my wife (who is very possibly also ADHD)

Yeah I have to tell you, you really know you are 50 when you get the home bowl cancer test in the mail.

How have things been around here? How has things been for you? Hope things are going in a generally positive direction for you. Have you applied for the NDIS?

OMG PHLEXOR'S BACK!! :GA:

That stinks the pandemic has been hard. It sort of had the opposite affect for me. I've become obsessed with my home, plus Sugarbutt and I are like newlyweds again and we can't stand to be away from each other.  :lol1: Good luck with the ancestry thingy.

Since me and my wife have been together (27 years ago now, we celebrated last week) we have never been apart really, and if we are, we miss each other terribly. When she went to New Zealand a few years ago for a Knitting meetup, we video called every night over wifi.

About the NDIS - I was already registered with the Disability Services Commission from way back in 2005. I was lucky that I registered with them when I did because only autistic people with intellectual disabilities were able to sign up with them shortly after I did. So I was with them for years until they became defunct and rolled me over to the NDIS. At first I didn't know what services I could have, they didn't tell me. Later I asked for psychologist appointments and so I now see a psych once a month. It's a pity they don't cover psychiatrists because that costs a lot for me.

Next week I'm going to a review of my plan to see if I can get physiotherapy covered. I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and I go to the physio once a week. I'm not holding my breath for this but all I can do is give it a try.

Hard to believe you have grown up kids!

Yeah NDIS is crazy suff, we have a really great case manager or whatever they are called, we are getting stuff done, but things seem to be changing all the time with NDIS. I my self are in the process of getting on it, just waiting for the phone interview where I have to be spazzy as possible to get more funding. It's like a gameshow, How Spazzy Are You!!! Win more prizes!

But to be real, I'm probably more fucked up than I'd like to admit to myself. I mean my whole life has been fucked up I guess, but for me, that's normal. How am I meant to know what the average person does or doesn't have to deal with to even know what is an issue. I could be accepting a lot of fucked up shit in my life because I don't even know any better. No one talks about it.

Any way yeah, adult children, 3 boys (men now I guess) 20, 25 and 26. But they are still our babies. Letting them go to make their own mistakes and learn is the hardest. Being too helpful can be harmful, to a point.

Hope you can get some good services from NDIS.

We've always been apart during the day, due to one or both working outside the home. Then we had two whole years of both being home full time, so now we're having separation anxiety from being apart one day per week.  :lol1:
