I have to agree with the sentiment about making bannings or suspensions public knowledge. In the long term it doesn't matter who "pulled the trigger", but, people have the right to know why all of a sudden someone "disappears". I wouldn't hold one person responsible for such things, but, the mods and admin. collectively, should be held accountable for their actions.
Generally, the "firestorm" of controversy is a lot less if the reasons for banning or suspension are made clear.

This person is dating a 17 year old and how old are they? I personally couldn't date a 17 year old (kinda dating a girl who is 20 now), but I am 28. As for spokane girl, the proper thing for me to do is not take sides, as in any argument. You do understand Alex has problems right?. As I have tried my best to avert my current perdictment and if I fail oh well, no sense in stressing. I am not saying what, but it looks bad. I live in the now, enjoying what I have now, because things could get worse. I HAVE TRIED MY BEST SO NO SENSE IN WORRYING. Its nothing to do with my mental health. Stressing blocks your ability to avert situations anyway. That was yesterday and then I meditated and today I see another solution. If Alex is keeping up on his behavior that is distressing everyone, I don't see much point in trying to enjoy the now before things become really fucked up down there. Even if I got various degrees, I would be open to being wrong and still think everything is not 100 percent. I am not perfect and only human, so I listen with an open ear to what others have to say.

I was told that. My boss told me she was married at 17 and my spanish teacher told his whole class when I was 18 and my special ed teacher told me about her nephew so that's how I knew that stuff. I was asking if you guys would still think Grael was a pedo if it was 16 in Oregon instead of 18. I don't think she is because of the age in the UK is 16 and she is just following that law. When I was in the UK, I still saw 16 and 17 as kids instead of adults even though 16 is an adult age in the UK. In the situation we are actually discussing, the age of consent is 18 in Oregon and she is a pedophile, both legally and morally.
The age for marriage in Oregon is 17 (with parental consent), but that age is irrelevant unless she marries the sixteen year old child she is currently soliciting for sex after he turns seventeen before she screws him.

I think these laws are fucked up. Look at that kid who went to prison for 18 years because he got a blow job from a 15 year old. They were both in fucking high school so they were EMOTIONAL EQUALS. There was nothing morally wrong with that scenario, because they're essentially peers. And what if he'd gotten the blow job when he was 17 just a few months earlier - that wouldn't have been wrong? It doesn't make sense.
Since the laws are clearly not perfect, you really do have to apply common sense to the situation. Grael and Flagg have a huge age gap - it's not like she's 19 and he's 16 - that would be a grey area IMHO, especially if they were both in high school or both in college.
Also, I don't think that Flagg's 18th (or 17th) birthday will make her NOT a pedo, since the relationship started when he was so young.

That's why I have a rule for myself to protect myself from being busted with the law and from being labeled sicko from people. I don't date minors.

I was even told that 14 was the age of consent in Montana but no I found out at 20 or 21 it was eighteen. Everyone who told me in high school where you can have sex that young were all wrong. Maybe that’s why they didn’t shun the guy for it.
When I was 15 I indeed called the guy a child molester when I asked how old the guy was and my response was “Child molester child molester†and one of the teacher’s said “No it’s different here. I think the age is young here. Thirteen or fourteen or is it fifteen.â€

it depends entirely on the age of the younger person, and their maturity. if i were to be with someone 20 years younger than me, it wouldn't necessarily be a problem from an ethical point of view, cos they'd be able to make educate choices about the relationship, having had more life experience (theoretically).
however, even a 5 year age gap if the oldest person was 20 would be dodgy, in my book, cos there's such a world of difference between a 15 year old and a 20 year old. i've had significantly younger partners for years now (for various reasons) - the last was (still is, for all i know :laugh: ) 6 or 7 years younger than me (i forget which). that's fine when he's mid thirties, not so with an 18 and an 11 year old.

I agree. I think the age of consent should be 18 for both males and females in every state in the US, unless the couple is close together in age.
I don't have any problem at all with age differences, unless one of the partners is a minor.
My husband is younger than I am and I was once in a relationship with someone who was eighteen years older than I was. I was an adult when I entered the relationship, though.

Alex is now saying he will be unbanning some people and claiming that he didn't approve of their banning in the first place:
Bans are generally not used for anything other than spam and serious abuse. In the recent past, a couple of members were banned for bad language after an argument with a moderator. I did not approve of these bans. Other people also felt the same way as me.
I am unbanning said individuals and sending them a message reflecting this. I have talked to the moderator behind these bans and he has agreed to no longer ban any members without my approval. This moderator mistakenly believed that he was authorized to ban those people. If any mod does purposely violate the trust of the members in the future, they will no longer be moderating.
Unfortunately, some members reacted belligerently to this mod's actions by spamming and attacking WrongPlanet. If those members had just appealed to me, this problem could have been resolved quickly and they wouldn't have shot themselves in the foot by seriously violating the trust of the WrongPlanet community.
Whether that will have any affect on the members who post here I don't know.

Thinking about suicide but you're not sure if it's the right thing to do? Here are some tips to help you decide whether or not killing yourself is a good choice:
1. Do you live at home but your parents are always making you clean your room and do your homework? It's a sure sign that they don't love you and that they want you to kill yourself.
