Hi,
I am sinsboldly, but you can call me Merle. I got the name from a creative writing teacher that probably figured out there was something up, neurologically with me, but this was before Asperger's Syndrome was known in the US, so he just said I was like Martin Luther's quote that I didn't know I was sinning so I 'sinned boldly'. My folk used to call me the 'bull in the china shop' because I would blabber and blurt anything and everything I was thinking.
I used to think I had been enlightened enough to have several lives in this one life,with out having to die and 'forget' them between each one. It's like it is multiple personalities only serially, one unique person at a time. I don't know what I think now, but I still experience it. I have been a rock festival organizer in Seattle, a cook in San Francisco and a chef in Kailua-Kona, HI, lived for years in a hippie commune in CA, a computer troubleshooter at Gateway 2000, organized acid dealers in Berkeley, drove taxi in San Diego, was a stand up comedienne in NYC and a semi-professional dominatrix in Minneapolis. I now am a Medicare Fraud investigator for a well known Health Insurance company I am proud to work with (not for profit, champion of health care transparency).
I do a lot of volunteer work, lately. It keeps me off the streets. I like to do a couple tokes every now and then and just recently lost 18% of my body weight by sticking to a different diet/way of eating. It is getting to be fun to walk everywhere and run up the 5 floors to the roof at work. It has changed my attitude and I suppose my cholesterol and blood sugars are behaving themselves.
I came to understand my Asperger's late in life. It was a relief to finally know why at almost 60, I would still skip down the halls at work. Why I stared into the middle distance and liked it. Why my childhood was a nightmare and my adolescence a terror. Why I stimmed and talked and talked and talked about the most obscure and arcane information while others eyes glassed and glazed and they begged off to parts unknown. Wondered why my various husbands and long term companions would chew their arms off to get away from me. And those that would continue to be with me and I would not , why I beat a hasty retreat and moved out when they went out for a pack of cigarettes. . .

yeah, it just sorta started one day and now it's like I don't have my okey doke on it with out it.
(okey doke. . long ago physicians used the inside scrapings of the astringent tannin rich oak bark, making a fluffy duff or 'doke'. when they closed insisions they sprinkled on the oak dokum to draw the edges together. The procedure was not finished with out the doctor's 'okey doke'.)

Actually there are legitimate reasons for studying dry-dockers, surprisingly. How much water to put into a toilet is quite an important problem.

I don't know if Alex 'allows' people to come to I2 or ZOMG or what ever. I have never heard anything about it. I couldn't be bothered to follow such petty parochialism , anyway and besides, no one has 'allowed' me to do anything since I escaped from Topeka State years ago. I do it for karmic payback, probably. It was pretty rough for me when I first came onto WP. I had been an undiagnosed Aspie for years and years and decades and had just heard about AS and was pretty sure I had it. I didn't know what to do about it, or even if there would ever be any help for us older Aspies, as so much was being done for the young ones. I used to savagely gnaw out my very vitals and fling it in front of people in posts so they would dispair.
After a while, I worked through that and because people didn't reject me out of hand, I started to change my attitude because I didn't feel so bad anymore. And I learned a lot, and then more and more about AS and myself. I kept posting, mostly in the Dino Cafe and then the Dino Ex-Cafe and after awhile they handed me a figurative mop and a broom and told me to get to work as a mod. I figured some that I owed the new people coming in that might have the same issues I had, that and I wanted a place to be there for other people that needed it as much as I did. So, gratitude and love are my motivators, yeah.

Yeah, when I was there, there were a lot of people doing it for the same reasons. I guess not much has changed.

Just looking at the parts of the mod log that are still there on WP may not be sufficient, since Alex has a tendency to delete stuff that makes him look bad.

I didn't get any posts in my Email in box that there was a post in my Intro thread. I was kinda wondering if no one at all was moved to read or answer my intro (that I was asked to write). So, I got busy, as ya' do, and hadn't come back to I2 until I got a PM from "parts" wondering if I was coming back and wow, 6 pages of welcome!
I don't know if Alex 'allows' people to come to I2 or ZOMG or what ever. I have never heard anything about it. I couldn't be bothered to follow such petty parochialism , anyway and besides, no one has 'allowed' me to do anything since I escaped from Topeka State years ago. Your version of 'MrMark" sorta gave me a turn, I must admit, and I am rather glad I didn't meet up with him before I knew he was a ringer! I have never heard most of the ideas you have about WP mods before, and hoping to not seem like too much of a naif, but I am amazed. But yeah, WP wouldn't put up with a 10th of what happens here.
However, I am a big girl and have my big girl panties on, so what ever, when in Rome and all of that. I came here because I was looking up other Aspie boards and wondered what was out on the Internet. I mean, people ask me, and I had to say, I didn't know. Now I am finding out.

I suggest you do some reading of old threads around here on WP - you might find it an eye-opener. Several members and former members of here were the original moderators on there. Might want to look up William Freund whilst you are at it.
As for "MrMark" - any member can change their own profiles.
as I have been a member of WP since 2006 and read all the past mod logs, my eyes have been wide open from the beginning. Any site that would have me as a member, let alone as a mod, would have to be accomdating to allow me to be there, anyway.

It was pretty rough for me when I first came onto WP. I had been an undiagnosed Aspie for years and years and decades and had just heard about AS and was pretty sure I had it. I didn't know what to do about it, or even if there would ever be any help for us older Aspies, as so much was being done for the young ones.

I used to savagely gnaw out my very vitals and fling it in front of people in posts so they would dispair.
How supportive.
After a while, I worked through that and because people didn't reject me out of hand, I started to change my attitude because I didn't feel so bad anymore. And I learned a lot, and then more and more about AS and myself. I kept posting, mostly in the Dino Cafe and then the Dino Ex-Cafe and after awhile they handed me a figurative mop and a broom and told me to get to work as a mod. I figured some that I owed the new people coming in that might have the same issues I had, that and I wanted a place to be there for other people that needed it as much as I did. So, gratitude and love are my motivators, yeah.

OK here is an easier question SinsBoldly that I am interested in.
AspiesforFreedom had a temporary shut down and many members left to join other forums. A few people on WP started a couple of Anti-AFF threads and were hostile, insulting and rude towards AFF'ers. I, as a member of both sites, damningly argued an opposite point of view and you decided to warn me and allow countless others to continue the biased views they had and the blanket insults.
Naturally I pointed this out to you and you bailed out on discussions.
Why did you fail at responsible moderation in this instance?

I would have to verify before we publish, but for the record, some of my investments make far less than that.

When you try to think of WP as a business, most of the "detrimental to support" things make sense. I have a hard time finding fault with making money in this economical climate.

It was old three years ago, when Alex had a fit and banned me for comparing his board to a daytime soap. Thing is, every time some n00b comes over here and explains about paying back to the community while feeling bad about the un-dx'd AS (or more often, the adolescent syndrome, tbh), I get all these flashbacks and start thinking how paying ones dues to a kid who couldn't care less is a bit like offering protection money to the local gangsters.

Hell, my faggotry on there sparked an actual conspiracy against me by all the regulars united to troll me, out me or intimidate me until I left; even the admin knew I was a bad choice as mod and was tempted to demote me too, yes, I was THAT bad. I got the impression some other mods at WP, especially that Muzukashii guy or what's his name, are annoyed with Sinsboldly. There seems to be a rift between the mods, below the surface and I feel like Sinsboldly is allowed to do what she does as an act of benevolence from Alex Plank. However, I noticed that sometimes, other mods seem to restrain Merle and take personal responsibility for users she's aching to ban, prolonging their lifetime a little. Behind the scenes I think she's treated a bit like an overgrown, attention-seeking kid who's rewarded with authority as a cookie to feel better about herself. I don't get the impression she's very respected.
At age 60+, her self-awareness seems to be horribly low and I strongly believe she has borderline personality disorder in addition to AS but tries to attribute all of her personality flaws as natural AS-traits. I don't usually resort to using the expression "pathetic" but she's really a good candidate for being labeled with it.

I remember she called me by my name on WP than by Calico or Spokane Girl and I found it creepy but I figured she maybe got that name from the meetup.org or someone told her or I have posted my name at WP before and she saw the post. I find this a bit funny because I saw a psych who wrote down that I had borderline traits after I had told him what had been going on and what I wanted to happen all in one long sentence (I had read out a list that I had written down). So because I did that it is now on my records. So I agree with the bit written about psychs not knowing what to do sometimes with people and so label them borderline.
