Roller coasters = Busch Gardens and Universal Islands of Adventure.    Everything else is meh roller coaster wise in FL.   Plenty of interesting places to camp, not just the Everglades.   Jenni Springs, Silver springs, and several other springs are fun places to camp.   There are campgrounds at Zephyrhills I think too.   The suburban sprawl and lack of decent public transportation in FL is troublesome.   Orlando has buses, and I never enjoyed the Lynx system much near UCF.   It worked when I didn't have a car though.

It got to 80 degrees today, which is something I love.   I can see why as a Canadian that would bother you.

It would be better if it weren't covered with scrawny buildings, or at least had a better bus system.

I want to go camping in the Everglades. Maybe after that, I'll know more how I like it.

Sucks to hear you don't have good connections where you live.   I guess I am good for something.   If you want to know more about the area, you can ask me as I have lived in FL for almost 30 years.   I spent 2 of them going to school in Orlando at UCF.    Also Fort Clinch (Fernadina Beach) has campgrounds and civil war re-enactments.    Kinda hilarious to be camping and have serious RPers in civil war gear walk by at night.

I don't pretend to know how to keep the raccoons out of the trash myself, they are sneaky bastards.   I assume a few of those work.

It has been a while since I camped at Fort Clinch, but it used to be my favorite when I was in the Boy Scouts.   It is less than an hour north of Jacksonville and pretty close to the border of GA and FL.   It is on the north end of Amelia Island.   Nassau County if I remember correctly.   We had a 14 mile or so hike we took there too.

The Ichetucknee spring/river was a favorite as well.   Its water stays 72 degrees, even during the winter.   We used to go tubing there all the time.

Catch them in the act and kill them.
then leave the mangled carcass next to the trash for a couple of days so that the rest of them see it. ive never tried this with coons but it works well with those garbage digin bums.
