If you were a kitchen appliance, what kitchen appliance would you be, and why?

Oh geez. Um, considering the next question, how about a knife sharpener. Cause it's more fun the more with it the other guy is.

 :LMAO:

If we were to get into a knife fight,
what move would you use to get the
jump on me?

I'd gauge your mind first, to see how likely you were to do actual damage, how dirty you fought, and what your purpose was. Then I'd defend myself according to what I sensed.

You'd defend? Neither of us would ever strike then.  :zoinks:

Oh, there are times I'd attack. But I thought you were asking what I'd do if I saw you coming at me.

You wouldn't need a move to get the drop on him, just proper timing and stealth.   Hide somewhere, preferably dark and around the corner from where he is walking.   When he walks by, you pull him into the dark alley and slit his throat.    While pulling him into the dark corridor, it is suggested to use chloroform in a rag if you aren't going to kill him on the spot.   It wouldn't be a knife fight in that case, more of a murder.   Why else would you bother getting the drop on someone?   If you have the drop, kill them immediately without giving them the chance to defend.
:P   Internets are super serious.

I seriously would not attack. I don't think I've ever done
so first, without a hell of a lot of circling, and coming to
the conclusion that my enemy wouldn't do so.

 You're assuming my goal would be to kill him. Considering he's willing to put wards on the people he likes, I doubt he would be out to murder me, so I wouldn't necessarily have to strike to kill.

He'd be more likely to want to humiliate me or force sex on me. That might be worth going for his balls, see what kind of defensive instincts he's got there. Or any disabling injury - if I were defending against rape, I'd be ok legally. But I'd be more likely to watch for when he let his guard down, and then be ready with rope or cuffs or the like. Chloroform's actually not a half bad idea. The whole thing's moot though, because I'm not going to get that close.

You have a low opinion of me.
I'd merely want to play.

I thought you liked humiliation through sex.

I thought you liked humiliation through sex.

Damned if I know what I like.
The appearance, yes.

But, no way in hell I'd take a
game there, unless I knew it was
acceptable.

At first, at least - hopefully evermore now.

What do you know, the irrepressible Cal has boundaries!

Seriously, though, I agree. Humiliation ain't my thing. Though I could see myself playing with it in order to get over the associations that make it so unpleasant, it's not exactly top of my priority list.

More than you'd think, given that attitude.
This is the guy who will NOT approach a
woman, because it might be seen as weakness.

I'm not even sure humiliation is really it for me.
I try and explain it as that, because it SEEMS
that way. Fear, much more so.

Might all be a matter of moods.

All this talk is getting me hot,
I'm gonna do laundry.

As in getting off on making the other person afraid?

That, I have no problem with, from either side. I love playing with fear.

But for me, fear and humiliation really have little to do with each other. Humiliation's much closer tied to disgust and contempt. Of all the things I'm afraid of, humiliation isn't one of them - in fact, allowing myself to be humiliated is often an effective protective tactic. It satisfies those who get off on it, and it doesn't occur to them that there might be something else behind it.

Fear needs a purpose though, to
be more than a game. Maybe. I don't
know.

Like I said, some of the things that I
desire would seem humiliation to others.
Or degradation. It's complex though, because
I don't think those are my motives. Indeed, fear
that I they will do just that prevented me from
even expressing them to my wife. Since then, I
was able to find that I could express them to one
person I was truly interested in - as a warning - and
her reaction to them was entirely positive. Might
have all been an act though, for all I know.

For me, the purpose is life. I'm phobic enough that the more control I can train myself to have over it, the better off I'll be. And it keeps me pushing boundaries, which is necessary in order to keep up the life I want.

What kind of things are you talking about, and how do they relate to fear for you?

Not what I meant. If it were, you'd fear life.
I mean that there has to be a direct cause.

Hmm...getting pretty personal, outside my ask away thread.

Ok. The biggies for me (as of now) are giving facials and talking
kinda dirty/mean. Yeah, probably seems like NOTHING to most,
but it's one hell of a barrier to me. Just having admitted that
to someone was a tremendous step (ah, not so much here,
in the open).
