enough people will have told you this that maybe you'll
hear. Of course, all those saying that "it's okay that soph
feels badly" blind you to it. Tell you what, put it up as poll,
if you're interested in what others think. Still might not be
accurate - but you're liked, and people don't want to hurt
you.

I say enough. There's not a hell of a lot you
could do to change opinions for the better.

Frankly, I think you are a weasel, who has certain enjoyment
in 'shit-stirring' but can't take the heat for the actions that you
take. You've even admitted that you are like this IRL too - much
as you deny being the same here and there.

Is this a horrible thing? Not particularly. I don't trust you, and don't
admire your lack of honor, but those are merely personal considerations.
Sadly, you don't even make a particularly effective ally, as you aren't
anywhere near as good at being 'sneaky' as you like to think. Might
I suggest strict honesty as a tool? It won't work here, but it can be
remarkably effective at deceiving - I know because I used to believe
in it. Now, I see no difference between deceiving with the truth, and
doing so with lies.

What's so terrible about the idea of using force to keep people in line? Physical force, force of personality, force of social stigma, and force of established rules are just different means of accomplishing the same results. What makes one more superior to the others?

I don't like any of them. But, that's just me. Some people are happier
under a dictatorship.

Which goes back to your point about trusting people to honor their word.

But how is a person who is anally strict about keeping their word supposed to operate in a world where very little is actually cut and dried? Even the meanings of words are up for debate.

I say some other criteria are needed to do reality-testing on one's results. It's too easy for strict systems to become influenced by factors they weren't accounting for. Are you familiar with the demise of Ayn Rand's little cult?
