"We've moved - there might be slight wonkiness"

I just have to post to say that "wonky" is one of our favorite family words.  It was much used last weekend when hubby and I tiled our shower, and had a hell of a time keeping all the lines straight.

Could it be that this word comes from Willy Wonka????

I was just thinking of posting a comment about the "wonkiness" post too!  I use that word every so often and soem people think it's odd- I'm glad to see other people using it!  (Without, of course, thinking they're wonky.)
it is well known that PMS Elle is evil.

You win this thread because that's most unsettling to even think about.

nah - it was around before willy wonka, i reckon - my family used it when i was a kid, and, as it was first published in the states in 1964 (and my family wouldn't have read it), i doubt that's it's provenance.

Sounds deliciously tempting, Mr Wonka. Does it melt in your mouth?

Wonky is a philosophical term used to describe the phenomenon wherein every thread swiftly and spontaneously veers towards the gutter.
