Mackerel in curry sauce on toast.
A clementine.

Going to have a quorn curry later.

It seems that I took all kinds of grief for eating Quorn a couple of years ago. Not here.

I am glad that it has caught on.

For my Quorn, you can keep your fucking curry, though.

I came home to a wonderful meatball vegetable stew, Italian style.

Absolutely and you probably would say the same thing about some of Tex-Mex specialties, flavored with fresh coriander greens, chili peppers and ground cumin seeds.

The thing I have learned, rather slowly, is that Quorn is available in different grades for a variety of uses. During the summer when everything was fresh, I made an all vegetable spaghetti sauce and used Quornballs instead of meatballs. It was fabulous and even the kids liked it. (Victory!)
I have also tried the Swedish meatball recipe made with Quorn and it was excellent, too. It also does great things to cheesy, rice casseroles.

Curry is just one of those smells I don't like. For shame, for shame!

Haven't eaten enough today, I think. I'd better eat something before I go to bed. :-\

Take a deeeeeeeep breath, Odeon.
It's OK. Really, it's OK.

(Besides, I thought you were mostly Finnish, with a Swedish address. I'm not making Finnish meatballs out of Quorn, afterall.)

Quorn absorbs the flavorings, just like meat. It works out fine. It is even better as a meat stretcher, though. For instance, according to my cousin who got me started on Quorn, a chowder made with a few fresh clams and a bit of Quorn is reported to be absolutely delicious. I plan to try that as soon as I can find fresh clams available.

Another deep breath, now.

Yeah, I'm Finnish. My dad used to make fabulous meatballs. Without Quorn.

Yeah, I'm Finnish. My dad used to make fabulous meatballs. Without Quorn.

I'm not surprised!

Quorn is fairly new, though.
I wish I would have had it to offer my dad when his health was faltering and had to be put on a mostly meatless diet, due to his out-of control cholesterol.
He got very tired of what he called "goatfeed" ... mostly vegetables.

:D

I like veggies, though.

I like fresh veggies but I really can't stand the meat replacements and such.

My dad, incidentally, died years ago. Smoking killed him.

I hated them, when they were soy based, but I have not had bad Quorn.

My dad is long gone, too. I still miss him, though. He was a very cool old guy.
