Breakfast was a bagel and lunch was poutine. I'm filled up and skipped dinner.

Half price full english in Morissons Cafe, all day, every day.

If it's half price all day every day, then isn't that just the normal price?

I've never had catfish. But it's Trip's favourite food on Enterprise. :)

I caught some catfish in Chesapeake bay and we cooked it on the campfire, wrapped in foil with butter. They were very good eating.

I've never heard of anyone eating catfish in Straya.

I was using my ex's grandfather's ancient fishing rod and got busted off a couple of times by what was probably VERY big catfish. I managed to pull a couple in that were a decent size, just under a kilo I guess.

Catfish down south can grow very large.  Here in the northeast USA, they can grow to good size.  Some of the ones we pulled out of the pond were about a foot long.  It is a very meaty fish once you do the deboning.   And cooks in such a way, that you know it's done when it falls apart as you flip it on the skillet.  I have been to aquariums where the southern catfish were easily 2-3 feet long.  And I've heard stories of bigger.  Down south they are raised in fish farms.

The new normal?  I guess so.

I'm pretty sure that the catfish that busted me off were at least this big.

Yep, that's a typical southern catfish.  Just watch out for the barbs that stick out the sides and the one on the top.  My father got stuck a few times prepping them for cooking.

In India there are giant catfish in some of the rivers that have supposedly developed a taste for human flesh (people are often partly cremated and dumped in the headwaters of the Ganges, which supposedly releases them from the cycle of death and rebirth). And those catfish are rumoured to have been responsible for eating small children who were swimming in the river.

I saw this on the show "River Monsters" which I always assumed was a little bit embellished.

Catfish - just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water. :zoinks:
