Thought my phone stopped working while I was out today. Came home and plugged it in and it still works. That really scared me, it hasn't done that before - just switch off and not be able to be switched on again.

Got some power tools working that I thought I would have to write off as unrepairable one by making a special internal wire connector out of soldered bits of copper wire and shinkwrapping it
