That was the easy part- 3 kids waiting in the baggage claim hall when we arrived back in England was the awful bit- the eldest two were fighting cat and dog.

Yeah- I must be a glutton for punishment though I already booked to take them again at the end of November- they might even have the second guest bedroom finished by then so I won't have to share a room with all 3 kids.

Hopefully next summer he will- my mum paid for the flights (which were only £95 for the 4 of us), but we can't afford to get him a passport (which are now £66) and pay for airport parking for the week and kennels for the dog just yet :(

Even dogs need them now if you want to take them abroad with you.  :o

i would assume that since the union formed that it would be like traveling between the states, here in america.  we can do so freely.  they just check to see if you are bringing any agriculture accross state lines.
Misunderstood.

That would make sense but no you need a valid passport to travel out of the UK even to another EU country.  It irritates me that they have to make them so expensive though (the cost went up again recently has they all have to have chips in them now).

I think there's a conspiracy going on and the terrrorist 'threat' is just a useful tool to help this- they actually want people to feel so guilty about anything fun (travelling, drinking, smoking, sex, eating tasty food, drugs, using too much electric to power all our computers, TV's,  etc) that everyone stops having fun, that way we're all so fucking depressed about how shit life is that we don't give a crap what the government gets up to.

Serious?

Yay, it's Mel. Long live Mel.

How was the holiday?

Serious about what?

It was pretty good, although I'm glad to be home now so I can have a bit of space.

Serious, as in you're actually back. :)

And space is definitely teh win.

You need a passport to get into Canada and Mexico now. But you can get into Canada without a passport but you will need one to get back into the USA. I think it's the same as Mexico. Luckily I have my passport.
