Depends if it was permanent dye or not; if it wasn't, I dye it and let it wash out.  If it was, I'd cut my hair and regrow it it's natural colour.

How about if you had to have one pink streak- but you couldn't cut the streak, you had to grow it out.  That or a shaved head?

Then I'd try everything I could think of to hide or obscure it, but if it was too prominent, I'd admit defeat and shave.
