Have any book recommendations for me? I might take another trip down at the library at some point.

I don't know... what are you into Angelfluffybunnah! :3 ?
I suggest Knut Hamsun's Mysteries.

I think I read 'The Hunger' by him  ::) a few years ago. Fairly bleak as I remember.

Btw Kos, the other memorable Coen brothers films are Barton Fink, Fargo, And Oh Brother.. you seen these?

Oh shit I have to say all their films are good! Can't think of a bad one anyway.

Hunger is a classic too. Rather bleak, but there is also Victoria - maybe too sentimental for P's tastes - i dont know; a beautiful writer.

Yes, Fargo is great ( Steve Buscemi - lol ) and Oh Brother too - not to mention Blood Simple.
But you know, i have never actually managed to finish watching Barton Fink. I know i should like it, but ive tried about 3 times and give up after about 30 minutes.  ???

Knut is good. Never figured out if his name was pronounced 'nut'?  Blood Simple is very good. Bought it for my sister a few years back, must steal it back for another look!
Really like Barton Fink. For me the characters, the dialogue, the Art Deco sets etc are so interesting, so maybe the story is kind of secondary. dunno.
I enjoyed 'the Ladykillers' though given that I haven't seen the orginal Guinness/Sellers one.          Fargo's great.

Ive not seen their remake of The Lady Killers - not that i have avoided it, just one of them films where i think 'why remake it ?'. Similarly, with the Steve Martin Pink Panther, and maybe The Poseidon Adventure. I don't see a point in a remake.

The original reminds me of being on the dole when Thatcher was PM, they used to show old films in the afternoon. George Formby was marvelous.
Good times

Yeah youre right about the remakes. Just money-making exercises generally.

I haven't seen George Formby in ages. 'When I've cleaning windies!' ha, cool.  I'm sure Norman Wisdom made an appearance too!

Ladykillers and Pink Panther should be left alone! insane to make a remake. not Tom Hanks, not Steve Martin or anyone can touch them. blasphemy.

Though I will probably watch the Ladykillers remake when it is shown on cable.
No-one can replace Peter Sellers - that's just crazy.

The Ladykillers is maybe the exception to the remake rule. When I saw it I didnt know it was a remake 50's original starring the great chameleonic talents of Peter Sellers and Alex Guinness. However I would have seen it anyway because I don't avoid anything by the Coens.

Mr Hankino and Mr. Martino are Bastards, they ruined my life! lol
