I know how to set up proxies, since I like to flame, but apart from that I don't know very much about it. But Firefox 2.0 sets it own connections to Tor. That setting is the right setting when you use Tor, by the way, so don't change it.

Well you got until tomorrow night to guess how to fix it, because by then my new computer will have an operating system, and god willing, the natural unquestioned ability to use tor again.  God damn this backward piece of shit laptop.  Goddamn laptops in general with their self contained miniturized non-modularized electronics.  Gimme a desktop anyday who if its video card displeases you one day you can just tear it out, set it on fire, and buy a new one.

My last desktop died and I am using this laptop until my new desktop is fully assembled, and this laptop is the spawn of satan and it is the one having trouble connecting to freenode.

I still run Mozilla, despite that I couldn't use that pipelining, and I have noticed that it lets much fewer tracking cookies and shit through than IE7 does. Even without any special adblocks. But yesterday I installed Adblock Plus, which stops 99% of all ads and makes it go faster on pages with ads.
