it is the decision making group for the site.
another board opens up for your reading pleasure.
you get your name in green
it is the only place that elected administrators come from.

basically, it is the most democratic way that we could think of to have a community run website.  rather than like the other places where one person has the final say over everything.

i think your input would be highly valued! :)
