It's too thin a layer to peel off. Nothing to peel but the fingertips go numby and I tend to keep rubbing them with my thumb.

Well, 1/8 of the 1:72 model is ready now and is put aside to harden now and yeah, most of the glue smell is gone now too. Think tomorrow with more daylight I will continue building the thing and also think I'm doing a better job at it now than I did when I was 10/11 y/o.

Um, a life's lesson here? Seek for what you loved doing when you were young and try to find the enthusiasm you had back then doing it.

You could try nail polish remover, or some sort of oil like baby oil, cooking oil, mineral oil, or vaseline or something like that.  Run a tub of warm water, then coat your hands with the oily stuff and soak them in the warm water and the worst of the glue should rub off with a washcloth.
