Enjoying Ubuntu, so far. Have a lot to learn, though.
Need to find a decent fractal generator for this build.
Oh, you're running Ubuntu now? Very cool, Dawg.

I'm learning, still.
I'm running it on another machine. I can't get online, yet because the NetZero identification software does not support Linux at all, so they say.
I have read that some are doing it, though. I just need to learn how. I know there are some who run the NetZero Free dial-up, but mine is a little different, being their "Premium Service."

Thanks for the linky. Had read that one already, though.
I am pretty sure that all the (seven or eight) PCI modems I have in the closet are winmodems. I know the one that I have in this box is, for sure.
I may have to bring home one of the Motorola hardware modems from work. I believe they also support 56K. For about fifteen bucks, it's probably worth a shot. I don't remember if it has a serial port though.
(I wish I had saved the smiley I saw on a Linux friendly forum the other day. You know the graphic used while Windows is copying ... the little file folder opens and out flies a sheet of paper which lands in another file folder? Imagine adding a guy in the middle, grabbing the flying page out of the air and wiping his arse on it before he lets it fly into the other folder.
