People keep asking me what I align myself as, such as what is my occupation, my political identity, and what I'm expecting to do with my life. All of this was quite personal... especially since I'm still trying to figure myself out.

For one thing, I'm someone with a international perspective... I don't think in just national boundaries within the United States, I think outside of it. Especially with my experience of traveling to places like Pakistan, South Africa, UK, and France. I may look like a big oaf who cleans the local Walmart, yet I'm far from it. I'm a blogger, a writer, artist, student, and a registered independent with socialist tendencies. All of this is what makes me who I am, all of it is because of my family's role in places like Pakistan, Congo, and South America.

Sure I question the role of authority, yet that doesn't mean I'm defying it, sure I have strange views... but that means I'm open to hear different perspectives without everything being a shoved down my throat.

So why I^2 of all places? Simple really.... I went through a misunderstanding regarding my moderating on AFF, and I sneaked into I^2 under the guise of Boris_Pettigrew to understand what was being said about me. Sure I was hesitant, and acting like a dumb shit part of the time... yet I grew out of it, and you guys accepted me for who I was. Even if I had ulterior motives almost 8 years ago.

The two forums I consider my hangout spots is AFN and I^2.

Because without all of you, I wouldn't of accepted my identity almost 10 years ago.

We are all lemmings racing towards the cliff.
I2 today is not i2 of yesteryear. It is a knitting circle. Those that participate be they nice or asshats know their place and the price to be there. Odeon is the overlord

.Benevolent if you toe the line.

Think it is I2 of old? Even Odeon is not so delusional as to think otherwise. He may on occasionally pretend otherwise but his base is that knitting circle.

Censoring/banning/restricting/moderating myself, Calanadale & Scrapheap were all not his finest moments.

How to apologise to Scrap

Having a personal motto is important.

Have mop, will travel. That can be your new motto.

 :plus: for being you.

i vaguely remember the thing with AFF, my memory is pretty shotty. but glad you are around here. every time anything regarding baseball stats or the cubs shows up within my purview, I forever think of Genesis.

its interesting what you said about thinking beyond borders. I think that borders are arbitrary distractions from the truth that we live in a global society, global ecosystem...indeed, a single planet. And in terms of understanding humanity I think that thinking beyond borders is important. its too easy to fit problems into a box labeled "Country A", and then point and criticise. my views constantly evolve with regards to these types of things. I have I^2 to thank for this among many other things....

Thanks for sharing Genesis.

Can't you guys even just imagine it?

Forget practicality, or your experience....can you just....imagine?

It's there. It always was.

Hey Bastet! I almost didn't know who you were, but then I stalked your old posts. Thanks! It's been awhile, hope things are well with you.

:vortex2:   <--- (Vortex 'cause it looked cool, not because anything is sucking me down...except perhaps gravity. But not sure gravity qualifies and "sucking"....anyways...yeah. It looks cool.)

The title of OP makes me feel a little dissociative.

Genesis, how you are feeling is very normal. I never found my "place" in life until I was in my mid forties and had someone calling me "Daddy" and even though I was living in an unfamiliar country with a language I didn't know and working in a job that was tenuous at best... I finally knew who I was. And it wasn't tied to what I did for work, and where I lived.

I think you will find who you are in your own time and in your own way, and it will likely happen in a way that you don't expect. In the meantime, the best thing that you can do is to work on being the best version of "you" that you can be. You're a bit different, as many of us are, but you are also creative and passionate.
