Interestingly enough I only have a 1 genuine Arrowhead form Missouri and a Fake one from Peru that was made for the tourist market. Real arrowheads and artifacts are pretty expensive, I'd like to get a framed collection of a group of them but thats gonna set me back at least 300 or more dollars. really good ones are like 600 bucks

I tend to move a lot so I know exactly what it's like to leave some behind,

I probably will never quit but at some point I need too. Sometimes I have buyers remorse and guilt like, I'm all "Why did I buy all this crap?"

by contrast, you can buy english flint scrapers and such for a song on ebay.  By the dozen, even. Might be better if they stayed in situ to avoid confusing future Archaologists, eh? I thought of leaving mine in situ, but what the heck, it's a drop in the oceon.

I forgot to say, i do have one more rock: a piece of marble (i think) shaped into a pyramid, for use as a paperweight (so not entirely useless, eh? ). It's special because my  (late)  Dad bought it for me as a birthday present. My Dad never bought anyone a birthday present; he left all that to Mum; but as soon as he saw this thing he thought of me, and just had to buy it for me.  And now . whenever I look at it, i think of Dad of course. And smile.

Btw, I like the "blue amber" but , err,  it's actually pink isn't it? :S

I have found some cool stuff over the years.  One of my prizes is a small ammonite fossil that I found in the creek bed of my inlaws place in upstate NY.

I had tons of fossils I think my mom just threw out in the garden when we moved from upstate NY.

Every other rock I picked up was a fossil of some sort up there. I used to come in the house with pocketfuls of rocks almost every day.

I did find a lot of clam fossils in the area of Cooperstown.  And there were a lot of intriguing fragments of other fossils that I had.  When I was in New Mexico I found some nice stuff like a fragment of petrified wood in in volcanic flow debris near Santa Fe.  My adopted Canadian inlaws in Alberta Canada had a ton of dinosaur fossils that they found in the nearby badlands of Drumheller.  I brought a few fragments of bone back with me that they said I could have.  They even had a piece of fossilized Dinosaur skin.   8)

Nice! I much rather fancy fossils, my best one well I have 2 really is a Large Ammolite and a Pink Limb cast (Petrified wood) from Nevada. It's totally Pink Chalcedony replaced the wood and Gemmy too

I also Love Jade, both Nephrite and Jadeite. Faceted Moldavite,

Amber, my daughter is still hoping that a meteor or pallasite falls her way.  There is a rock shop in North Conway, that has one, but, it's not for sale......yet!    :'(

Thanks to you.  :grouphug: :zoinks:

Rockhound - I hope she can get one. I want a pallasite also but they are $$$$$$

I do have a Canyon Diablo Iron Nickle meteorite from AZ, weighs about 286 grams and set me back a few hundred bucks. It will be my only example of a space rock,
