Is it too late to get your cat to reply here?

Alas, yes, it is too late. He is a late cat now.

Awesome critter he was. He was the fierce protector of my daughter, fending off anything he saw as dangerous, and the same time was the soft surface she learned to walk on.

RIP Pius.

Icequeen, were you always a ginger, or did you have a blonde phase as a baby?  :orly:

I had a blond phase.

I had reddish-blonde hair when I was a baby, which eventually turned more blonde, then morphed into a dark chestnut brown with alot of red in it.

I've been waiting for the gray hair so that I can let it grow out and rock the wild crazy old cat lady look, but my mother at age 65 didn't have alot of gray...and it looks like I will follow suit. I dye it because I have very fair skin and look rather sickly looking with the darker color. I use the lightest shade of blonde I can get, and it just lightens it and brings out the red.

My dad had very dark brown almost black straight hair, my mother dark brown straight hair, both had brown eyes. My grandmother was an Irish red haired curly ginger with green eyes.

I'm going to a friend's wedding early next month.  WTF do I wear/look for if I go clothes shopping?  I'm bad at dressing myself.  HALP

(I wish this was a parody post, but no.  Haven't been to a wedding in like 5 years, I think, and the vibe at that time was different than this vibe will be.  HALP)

Black....weddings are sad occasions.

Nope I may have to field this one, I've attended maybe five weddings in my entire life and one was my own  :-[...and according to my MIL I didn't dress properly for that one either.  :roar:

The last one I was invited to (and didn't attend) was 3 years ago...it was a come in camo and bring your own bottle redneck affair.

Check out wedding videos on yutube? I've been to several weddings and all I've noticed is different dresses.
I think it may depend on the type of ritual involved, like which church, if any, and whether it's formal or casual. I think how close you are to the person who invited you is also a factor. My mother is currently shopping for a dress for a wedding in October - it's my niece. She's been shopping since January, and has been consulting with my niece about it.

A second hand clothes shop nearby with a shopkeeper who likes clothes?

I would go to one or two second hand shops nearby, where I know the shopkeeper in one, or one of the employees in the other, likes helping out and get you dressed sharp and stylish for not too much money.

What kind of wedding is it? What time are you invited? Is it the official church/council hall bit? The reception? The night party?

I wore a jacket-and-skirt combo to my sister's wedding.  More recently, I've just worn "nice"
pants and a dressy jacket, and flat shoes.  I think it's OK to be less formal nowadays.  :tard:

Unless you are closely related to the couple, and they insist on formal stuff, you are right about that.

Think I haven't been to wedding thing with formal clothing in almost 40 years. Last wedding I attended in a long dress was when an uncle of mine tied the knot.

I seriously read that as thong dress.  I really need to get those bifocals!

Indeed.

Thinking about me as an eleven year old with a "thong dress".  :zombiefuck:

Unless you meant Australian thongs, I did wear those as a kid, you probably did too.

For my sister's wedding a few years ago I wore grey dress pants and a long sleeved pale yellow shirt with silver buttons. And my black Doc Martens. :P
