Not really :-/

Maybe just a teeny tiny bit.  :zoinks:

My cousin was in Iraq, he has PTSD, and Booze was one of his "escapes". So it doesn't help when it comes to someone with a Service Record.

I have no idea what helps. I do know what does not help:
1) thinking over and over about things out of your control which hurt you
---stay away from people who only want to gossip or magnify the shittiness of your experience
---those people don't care about how you are coping, they just want to talk shit about something
---stay around people who genuinely care about your state of mind, regardless of the situation

2) looking only at the small picture, and resistance to trying to see a bigger picture
---the bigger picture won't negate your hurt or somehow belittle your feelings
---letting go of the personal sting of things is liberating, you can still acknowledge the injustice of a situation without letting it tear you down
---don't let your need for validation prolong discomfort...be open to positive attitudes...sometimes a walk helps, to look at the world around in nature, animals, or in the stars and reflect on things in a holistic fashion...it tends to belittle the current shittiness (for me anyways)

3) letting my bad mood affect my patience for innocent bystanders
---lashing out at others, or cutting them off because I don't feel like talking only makes me feel worse because then they feel bad
---I would rather they left me alone, but I can ask them for space first, then if they don't give it I might have to just run away, or put on headphones, or hide in a closet
---trying to be polite while feeling like not caring is difficult, but worth it.

4) neglecting duties
---things piling up never helps my mood and reinforces my depression
---baby steps, little by little, slowly but surely, is a nice motto. just clean one thing (like a cup) and it feels good.
---if I haven't showered, washing my face and doing my hair feels good. even changing clothes if they are clean

Can't you guys even just imagine it?

Forget practicality, or your experience....can you just....imagine?

It's there. It always was.

Step 1: Get off the computer

Step 2: stay off the Computer for at least 4 hours

Step 3: Enjoy the real world

Step 4: If that doesn't work, go back to the Computer.

What do you mean, "real world"?
