I am watching the SF Giants take Detroit Tigers apart in Detroit. At this point it appears this will be SFs 2nd championship in 3 years.  :viking: Fuck Detroit!

NCIS, and I2, during the commercial breaks.

I am curious just how that show is viewed in other parts of the world due to it being about US military and the somewhat dim view many have of it in other parts of the world.  I know it's a crime show but they do touch on some sensitive subjects at times.

I like it better than a lot of the other crime shows. The dynamic between the people is good. It's less glossy than things like CSI, and, it is a series where there is the notion that not all can be turned right, a sense of tragic. I do miss that in a lot of USA series. And, yes, they do touch on sensitive subjects. That's part of the pleasure of looking at it. Seeing how sensitive subjects are being dealt with in a series shows what kind of thoughts live with the people producing the series. And, how they try to embed it in such a way that the public will still take it.
In UK series, there is a lot of touching on subjects like euthanasia. The public, and the people making those series, are often further in thinking about that than the politicians are ready for.
I've watched the series NCIS is a spin off from for a while too, but, JAG never got to be something I could turn the TV on for.

I'm watching 'Seven Pounds' on the telly at the moment (um, lousy commercial break now). Totally missed the beginning of the movie but stayed cause I saw Rosario Dawson on the screen and ja.. she's quite a sexy lady (imo).

Well, turns out the movie is a bit of a tearjerker.. and although not really a cry-baby.. I had to emo-swallow a couple of times.

Plus, since I missed the beginning.. I have no idea why, the character Will Smith plays, does what he does. An IRS agent goes philanthropic? Um, he now is going to try to fix her Heidelberg (press/printing machina).

Wow, that was quite a gut-shaker. Um, not bad, not bad.. is my conclusion after seeing only ¾, the last ¾, of the movie (Seven Pounds).

I liked that movie too.

Will Smith's character caused an automobile accident that killed seven people, including his fiancee, so he was trying to make up for it by saving seven good people.  He wasn't really an IRS agent, his brother was.  Will Smith's character gave him part of his lung and borrowed his identity.

^ Yes. Thanks. I found out watching the movie till the end.

Must say, I was impressed.. and albeit the sad/worrying undertone at times.. it's quite a good movie, imo.

(now, have to watch it again one day.. and also watch the first ¼.. )
