Anyways. I'm sad to see ASDC go as I have fond memories there too. The reactions I got to my "Beware of Woody" story still make me chuckle. ASDC was a haven for those of us who ran around like chickens with our heads cut off after all the shit that went down around AFF and I suppose that's how I'll remember it.

I'll miss MissKitty and Dunc though but I suppose they can always join up here or something if they want to.

I'm not overly-sad that it's gone as I knew that towards the end it would have to "kick the bucket" eventually.

That's the core of my beef here, ASDC was one of the few sites left where you could talk to those people.

I don't mind that Al didn't hand the site over to someone else, instead of shutting it down. Admins have access to the database and to information that moderators and general members don't have, and the people who joined the forum joined with the understanding of who those people would be. I guess if he had made the personal decision of trusting someone from the membership enough to hand it over, then it might be different, but he didn't do that, so I agree his only real choice of handing it over to another admin would have been El-President or PPK. I didn't realize Black Butterfly was an admin.

What about him? Did he even want it? If I recall correctly he shut down his own place without bothering to hand it over either. Is that part of why you're upset, because Al's site had dwindled into some weird echo of the drivel with the same few people hanging out together, except for dunc not being in charge?
