You can't trust anyone.

Just be glad that at least that is still better off for you than in Europe. We have had gun registries since before WWII in many countries.

It seems most people fundamentally misunderstand what the NRA is.  Most people think they are some kind of 2nd amendment rights group, when they are simply a lobbyist for the gun manufacturers.  Shouting about 2nd amendment rights certainly helps their cause, but their cause is selling more guns, not protecting your gun rights.  They only do the latter to help the former.
