We've had enough freezing that all the annoying insects are dead, except for ground dwelling insects, like certain wasps. No mosquitoes!
The moon this morning at about four thirty was like the thinnest slice of curling silver I've seen in quite a while. You could see through the shadowed part and make out the entire globe in shades of brown, with one shining shaving wrapped to one side. For the fifth time in the last two weeks I have seen a shooting star on my morning walk. I know it is past the peak Leonid shower time and one or two is not any big deal, but so many in such a short time feels lucky, somehow.
Wish I could snare the luck for my own use.
It's windy, cool, dry, clear but hardly pleasant in the evening. Early mornings have been frosty, clear and still.
