I wouldn't say I was interested,  but I have said many times, "It wasn't a chick I was with. It as my mom, you asshole!" to runningbuddies who asked about the hot chick I was grooving on.

Don't worry about seeming arrogant. Just tell the truth. You did it deliberately. You purposefully and with constant effort made it your personal mission and policy to preserve what mansnares you were "blessed" with, thus making available your charms to a wider scope of those you might take by lure. Very simple explanation is always the best.
